Hello all, I received a list error message that my post to the list was denied so I am posting it again. I apologize if it got posted twice. I just purchased a BaoFeng BF-F8HP and am trying to program it with Chirp. I followed the instructions and a pop up said "cloning" Then an error message popped up that said "radio did not respond." What am I doing wrong here? I am using the BaoFengTech FTDI cable on a windows 10 platform. TIA for any advice. Paul

According to the web-based "Supported Devices" list, the Icom IC-80AD is supported; however, I am unable to find it in the device list in the latest build of Chirp. Any suggestions?

What about the FT-2980R? Will CHIRP's FT-2900R support work with it? If I'm not mistaken, the only difference between the two is output power. Which CHIRP Program will work on the Yaesu FT-8000? Both the FT-7800/8900 nor FT-8100 will not work although the latter is the same radio model with a detachable front control head. [chirp_users] Alinco DR235

I have used Chirp successfully with multiple DR235 radios in the past. Using the same good cable (OPC-478 + USB convertor) I get "Unexpected Response from the Radio" most of the time. On rare occasions it works. I downloaded the latest daily build with no difference. Can anyone explain what happened? Is there a work around? Did RT Systems plant a bug? Thanks, N5DQ

[chirp_users] Baofeng UV-5R question - programmable memory channels

Short of downloading the archives and plugging into mail client, and online search of archives is non-existent, I'll ask here. Never programmed more than 76 channels before. I grabbed all of the repeaters that border the Interstate I normally travel, which adds up to 144, at the moment. When programming the Baofeng UV5R it says a max of 127 channels can be programmed. I tried upping the number in the fields at the top of CHIRP, but that does not help either. What am I missing here? Thank you. -- Rodney D.
