I hate to bother the group with this, but here we go. I have 2 Bao Feng GT-3TP units, no problem using CHIRP to transfer between them using the latest daily build and the recommended configurations from the home CHIRP page. Editing works fine and changes transfer properly. But when I try to do exactly the same from the 3-TP to the 5-TP the cloning fails because I cannot open the panel giving access to the UV 82 HP configuration that is required. I can download from the radio just fine, and upload to the radio, so the program cloning is talking to the GT-5TP. When I go to 'file' and get the file I want to put in the GT-5TP, the system will not give me access to the proper configuration for that radio because somehow it has lost the configuration inherited from down loading and uploading. I tried using the 'export csv' option, with the same result. Sorry to be simple but I'm stumped. Hugh VE7MDA

Hello all, I've just received my new UV-9R PLUS and copied the channels from my old UV-5R onto it. That went actually very painless. Now my question is: why are the channel names not shown on the UV-9R? I am in channel mode and the channel names are shown on the chirp software. What am I missing here. Regards, Frits Schouten.

I am running Ubuntu 16.04 under crouton on an Asus Flip C302 Chromebook. For the most part this setup works great on most everything except access to the tty device. I have added myself to the dialout group, but I still need to manually do a chmod on /dev/ttyUSB0 in order to avoid the permissions error. It is not a big problem to do this, but I thought that if I were in the dialout group, that would allow me to use the serial port without the chmod. Can anybody tell me what might be going on? Have the Yaesu 857 w/ oem serial cable, then a good FTDI Serial/usb adapter. Running Linux Mint 19.3. Downloads and uploads from and to GT3TP Seem to go as expected but edits to NAME (ie text) are not saved on the radio screen. They are there on the file when downloaded again but not displayed on the radio. Any suggestions? Hugh VE7MDA Sent by magic

Fixes #7605 This family of radios (like other brands and models) has a feature which automatically determines whether an offset is to be applied in positive or negative direction. When a user programmed the radio manually and didn't explicitly select positive or negative offset, then the radio saved the fact that it was automatically pre-selected, and not the actual selection. The driver was able to read that, but didn't know what to do with it. Data from an FT-65R (for North America models) and a FT-4XE (for European models) was obtained, and a table built from it. Code to determine the correct value for "duplex" (0 for +, or 2 for -, instead of 5 for auto) has been added. Now, instead of saving "auto", the image will be saved with the correct selection for duplex (something Yaesu should have done in the first place). Mentioned in #6677.

I am trying to programme PMR446 frequencies to a Puxing PX777 using CHIRP daily build 20200213 and receiving this error message: "Error setting memory: Frequency requires 6.25KHz step". I can see the 6.25 support is missing from the driver file in the source but 6.25 steps are supported by the radio. I was able to edit the img file to add the correct frequencies and upload to the radio. Mark Eisner
