Hi everyone ! Just a quick note. I have the latest release version of chirp working OK with Windows 10 64bit on my desktop . There have been no issues so far with chirp while running windows 10 with either reading or transferring data to and from my GT-5 . I had to roll back the 3.6 driver to 3.2.2.0 that windows had initially installed . It was giving me a cannot start device error message. Once I rolled back the drivers there was no further issues. [chirp_users] Chirp and Icom IC-7200

Ok so I am wanting to use chirp to upload memories to my Icom IC-7200 Amateur Radio. Now the IC-7200 has a USB and a CIV connection. My understanding is that the USB should work, But I cannot seem to get it to work. I do not have a CIV cable. So does anyone have any experience with the IC-7200? Can I use the USB connection to upload memories? Or am I going to need a CIV cable? Thanks Bill

to all, i have been reading that win 10 home 'automatic updates' cannot be turned off but win 10 home pro can. since i will have to use the older driver for the prolific chip will win 10 work or not? thank you, 73 zippy

Hi, I've been finding that if I click all the tabs I can get them all populated with data. Although the terminal reports: ERROR: Unable to find selected: iter must be a GtkTreeIter Curious. It still finishes with the status bar showing that it is still fetching the last memory and locks up. Only way to continue is to force quit I did notice the last memory displayed is 797 although the count in the status bar goes up to 849. hmm. [chirp_users] inexpensive Dual Band Mobile radios?

[This is sort of off-topic, but hinges on CHIRP support for the radio] Howdy, I'd like to get a recommendation for a dual band mobile radio for a new ham that will (probably) not use it a whole lot. But it needs to work reliably enough, even if not a lot of features. Actually less features is fine, that is just less stuff to not understand & less to forget between uses! :-) Mounting a UV5R in a car doesn't seem like a good idea. Can anyone offer anything good or bad about any "inexpensive" mobile dual band ham radio, including the Leixen VV-898 or Jetstream JT270M (apparently the same radio). It is one of the few cheap Mobile units I see on the list of CHIRP supported radios. http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home Amazon reviews seem fairly ok, especially for $99. I'm interested in a CHIRP-supported radio. This is intended for an 1997 Jeep Cherokee, and a small radio is probably a better match. It does need to be a dual bander. If the cost gets anywhere even near $200, I'd just recommend the Yaesu 7900 or Yaseu 8800. But for this situation, I'm open to hearing about cheaper alternatives that I might be able to recommend until this new ham grows into the "sport". I have read several request to add the Icom IC-T81A, Icom IC V80 and Icom IC V8 with the offer to loan radios for programs. Are there any updates on these programs, or is there a radios already on the list that could be used. Just a follow-up to my previous message on the above. Today's upgrade to 20160128~wily~1, as offered through Ubuntu's Software Updater, was installed as expected and the correct version (CHIRP daily-20160128) was displayed in the About CHIRP pane. It seems that the exercise of searching the computer for any remaining Chirp files and deleting them before re-installing the latest version (via the Synaptic Package Manager) did the trick. To whomever did the work, Thank You very much for adding banks support in Chirp for the FT-60R! I'm just reviewing my programming and realize that I last uploaded it back in May 2015. I don't believe it had banks support back then. Regards, Glen KJ6ZQH
