[chirp_users] Application Crashes in Mac

After some help from some folks on this users group I was able to get my Mac to recognized the the serial cable. However the problem I am having now is the application crashes after the upload from the radio is complete. I uploaded the latest version of Chirp(20170627) but that did not solved the problem. The Mac is running macOS Sierra version 10.12.5. Thanks for the help. John Laiosa N1BSO

[chirp_users] programming issues

9-19-2017 I am using Chirp and a TYT USB cable to program a TYT-9000D 2 meter ham radio. Software and USB cable work without any issues. I have tried MULTIPLE times to use same version of CHIRP and same USB cable to program a QTY-7900D and a QTY-8900D. I have NOT ever been able to read the QYT radio's. Neither model. The software will appear to start to read the radio and then drop out. Screen shows either comm. Error or says radio would not go into clone mode. By the software and cable working on the TYT-9000D, in my mind that clears the software and cable. IF there were any issues with the software or the cable, I don't believe I could use the combo on the TYT-9000D. I am open to any suggestions as what to do. [chirp_users] Btech UV-25X4

I know it is something I'm doing wrong but I can't get the Btech UV-25X4 to program. I can read the radio, update the templete and upload to the radio but it doesn't overwrite the display so my new channels only show up in position 4 on the display. The default channels remain in position 1-3. If someone has experience with this radio, please contact me offline or share a working file that I can compare. Thanking you in advance. Greg

Problems sending as Yahoo mail is pegging my CPU usage in Firefox on Mint 18.2. So I switched machines. The platform is an AMD 64 dual core running Mint 18.2 (all software updated) The system is not stable it seems and still having troubles even after updating yesterday. I think it has a nasty, CPU and network never quiet down. I think I found my mistake dialup is not dialout. Anyway I need a stable system first

[chirp_users] Changing R-CTCS and T-CTCS for a memory channel

I have multiply Baofeng radios( UV-5RV2, UV-5RE, UV-F9V2+). I am looking for a way to change these values from the keypad only. I have tried but it always reverts back. Any help is appreciated thanks -- Arnaud Protin

Got to the UV5 “Menu” and use arrow to go to menu 22 “MDF-B.” Hit the “menu” button again and arrow to “NAME.” Hit mane to confirm and “EXIT.” Now you have FREQuency display on “A” with a name of its channel on. Just did it on mine…kind of nice. Just remember whatever is displayed on A channel is probably different than what is selected on B. (Unless same channels are selected.) I've tried setting it using the keypad as well as changing it in CHIRP. Does it need to be the same in both (radio and software) before I start? Also, if it's uploading the names, why do the names not come back into CHIRP on a subsequent download from the radio? One more question, I have the 97 firmware on the radio so would it possibly not load / display any names if some are 7 characters? CHIRP supports 7 but as I understand it the newer firmware only allows 6. Thanks. Did you happen to set the Memory Display Format using the keypad. It would seem to me CHIRP is not set to the same values and is therefor changing the values (as it should). Look at these CHIRP settings... I'm new to the UV-5R and CHIRP and am having a problem that I hope is an easy fix. I was able to download from the radio and everything seems fine. I added names to the previously saved channels and added a ton of channels from the included files. When I uploaded the configuration to the radio, the channel names do not display. When I download the new configuration from the radio, the channel names were not present. So it's definitely not sending the channel names to the radio.
