[chirp_users] Error Trying To Download From FT-1D

When trying to download I get the message: An error has occurred Could not configure port: (5, 'Input/output error') The environment is Ubuntu 14.04, Chirp daily -20150210, cable SCU-18 with power light on, HT in CLONE mode. The Radio box presents port choices /dev/ttyS0 thru /dev/ttyS31 and I have tried many of these but not all, and always received the same exact message. There were no USB possibilities presented. The message said nothing of permissions. I did check anyway and saw: n4lbl@eel:~$ groups n4lbl n4lbl : n4lbl adm dialout fax cdrom floppy tape audio dip video plugdev fuse scanner lpadmin netdev sambashare so that seems OK. The HT's internal code is ancient: from when I bought it in Nov. or Dec. '13. My intention was to back it up before upgrading the code. I have recently bought baofeng 888 for a hospital er. we have our own repeater and I have entered this into chirp but the radios are still not transmitting or repeating. can anyone help freq 464.150000 tone 179.9 tonesql 179.9 cross mode tone-tone duplex + offest 5 the frequency is 464.150000/469.150000 and pl 179.9 thank you dan

Hi to all. I cannot have good end cloning my brand new ID-880 with Chirp. I've made clone-out with fast and slow feature in drivers options. I've cloned-out succesfully some memories with CS-80-880 and cloned-in with chirp. This file cloned-in with chirp was saved and immediatly cloned-out on radio and have the same error. Hi all, Yesterday we merged a change to clean up the settings interface a bit. It's a relatively minor visual change, but it affected a lot of code, including every driver that has a settings interface. We expect it to all be fine, but given how many things were touched, it would be good to do some extra checking. Below is the list of drivers that were affected. Due to the nested nature of the settings editor tree view, labels in the tree generally become obscured because the pane is too small. This change addresses the issue by a) adding a horizontal paned window which allows the tree view to be manually resized while b) flattening the radio featrure radio settings group to return a single list of all top level radio settings groups. Hi Joe, Richard, List @Jim Many thanx for the workaround. It works. But it would be great to get the new firmware also supported in Chirp for up/downloading from/to radio. Would it be possible to have a checkmark to accept any identity if the radio type is set to UV-B5/B6? Eg. do not care what radio sends, and just go on? Also it would be great to check when a NACK comes back if it is the first byte of the test data. If yes, then the propability is very high, that everything is OK, and that the firmware simply does not accept test data! I will gladly test beta builds. PS: As mentioned earlier, in the mailinglist welcome message a beta download link is referenced, that gives a 404. @Richard I will gladly test compiled code. Did not receive anything to test yet. Hello group. i would like to ask who does the trouble shooting when a bug is reported with chirp. is the bug trouble shooting done mostly by volunteers to find and fix bugs when they are reported here on this reflector. i reported a bug may 29 2014 and have not seen where anyone has worked on finding a fix for my bug. my bug issue is 1665. i have a kenwood tm d-700 A for which i am not able to store pl tones. i can change the frequency, as mentioned cannot store a pl tone. thank you leonard
