Is there any place I can upload... say a "serial dump" file of communication between it and some propriety software (named SV83) ? I managed to create a serial sniffer cable, so if I have a place to upload it, then you guys could inspect and add support for it. Heck I think having a dedicated place to upload serial dumps would be great for reverse engineering efforts.

[chirp_users] Windows 8 - unable to start Chirp application

Hi, I installed Chirp (latest daily build) on Windows 8 (x64) on my Microsoft Surface Pro. When I start the application, I can see a window telling me Error reporting is enabled, I just click OK to continue, and nothing happen after. Why ???!!!??? Regards, J-F

[chirp_users] Offset UV-5R

Why do I need a frequency in the offset cell even for a simplex channel? I was redoing my channel list yesterday and noticed the radio would not transmit on a channel that was for simplex crossband use into my base radio. I had removed the frequency figuring that if it is simplex it doesn't need an offset entered since it is the same as the RX/TX entries. Well that's not the case. It's no biggie. But I would like to understand the logic of needed the simplex frequency entered into the offset cell. Or maybe I'm doing something else wrong?

Has anyone gotten the Chirp to work, as intended for the UV-B5. i have no problem with driver and cable or COM port. Only problem is with Chirp not working with my UV-B5. Would you like to help CHIRP improve support for Yaesu VX-3 and VX-6? I have just completed adding complete support for VX-2 and FT-90 into CHIRP. As I have recently acquired a VX-3 and VX-6, I am currently looking into improving some of the features and support for these radios. Please help me by donating $5 towards my goal of $110.12 which covers the cost of the OEM programming cables and software which are needed to achieve this. My current project goals are to, by the end of the year, implement complete settings menus and banks support for VX-3 and VX-6.
