[chirp_users] Latest version number

Hi all I have been trying to get the latest version loaded. What is the latest version? I have followed Tom Hayward's instructions to have ppa added but I am still on version 0.1.12. I used Synaptic Manager to remove it and then reinstalled it and added the three app-get instructions to add the ppa. Is there more I need to do. Marty kd8bj

New on the list..and not sure where the archives are. So, just asking the question. I have downloaded and installed CHIRP daily-20120919 and the descriptions for the columns doesn't appear to be up to date in the CHIRP guide. For example, there are more columns that are not shown in the guide, ie URCALL (assume my callsign) and RPT1CALL and RPT2CALL (what are these?) and digital code. What appears to be missing is the power level setting, that is shown in the guide yet is missing in the program. Is there a better place to be looking for this information? The Yaesu FT-1500M is not covered by bob freeth g4hfq in his FT models...a recent e-mail indicates that this is not forthcoming either. The ONLY other alternative is the expensive ($50) RT Systems software which is tied to their unique cable. Any potential for getting the 1500M covered under CHIRP? Frank ---- Frank M. Hi I am a new member to the Chirp user group and have a question. I have downloaded Chirp to Xubuntu 12.04 using Synaptic Package Manager and set it up to try to work with the VX5R. I get an error message after trying to connect. The connection is via a USB to serial adapter which has worked before with the rig. The software is configured to use ttyUSB0 which is correct, I see that /dev/ttyUSB0 has permissions of: crw-rw---- 1 root dialout 188, 0 Sep 23 17:22 /dev/ttyUSB0 So I put myself in the dialout group as such: dialout:x:20:marty and have rebooted the machine a couple of times since that time. First is the entry in group correct, my login id is marty? Second has anyone else had this problem with VX5R rigs. The version of Chirp I am using is 0.1.12, I just loaded it yesterday sometime. On another not, I have a system running Win XP and loaded Chirp on it too and am getting much the same response. Only on that system I was connecting via serial port. I was able to connect and download and modify using Vx5 Commander and EVE, not very well mind you but it did work. Any ideas. Marty kd8bj

[chirp_users] OS X drivers for TH-D72

The programming cable for a TH-D72 is a regular USB Type A - Mini USB cable. CHIRP doesn't recognize the radio is plugged in to the computer. Is there a driver necessary? Is so, where do I find it? Thanks & 73, Rory - K5MBH Sent from my iPhone
