[chirp_users] ID-31A Quesitions and Issue

Not sure if this has been touched on yet, but when downloading my radio's config on the ID-31A, the names of my memory channels are getting truncated. I haven't tried updating the radio just yet but if I correct those and update it will this cause issues?? Thanks for the hard work on CHIRP! [chirp_users] TH-D72A Access Issue

Rechecked COM4 port in Device Manager (Windows 7). Shows port is operational. When I select Download Radio, drop down shows COM4 and Kenwood/TH-72. After selecting OK, nothing seems to be going on w/the CHIRP program. Appreciate any troubleshooting assistance. Thanks! 73, Scott

New to CHIRP; will program work with Kenwood USB cable used by Kenwood MCP-4A software w/TH-D72A? Was unable to get CHIRP to see radio using that cable. Pls advise re what I am overlooking/missing. Thanks! 73, Scott
