Galen, Stop threatening me and others, it is less stressful for you, and when your "house of reality" collapses, you will be able to pick up the fragmented pieces of your being. I have no idea what you're talking about, but I can guess that it means: You're a racist, anti-semetic and I don't know what "colors" means, but I am sure that it doesn't mean interior decorating. Your reaction to me shows me you have control issues, are probably used to using "hidden violence" and have many mental health issues. I wish you healing and health. You might notice that I've never in my life had to title an email: "perfectly clear warning". That really sums up your behavior to those who watch. Reasonable people don't get into situations of their own making then issuing "perfectly clear warnings" after they've made problems. I think I understood that CHIRP was somehow supporting and perhaps funding the individual you mentioned. [chirp_users] Installing To Linux

Hello, I am still using Ubuntu 18.04 on one machine, and I neglected to get Chirp installed onto it before it was no longer updating. I successfully added the Chirp repository to it, but it would not install with apt. So I went to the Chirp archives and downloaded what was stated the package for older systems, and I unpacked it, but they all seem to be .py files. I did not find a .sh file for installing. I'm only a moderate Linux user, so maybe someone can give me some steps for getting Chirp onto this Ubuntu. I'd rather not use a newer Ubuntu, since for this, it is just there mainly for using Chirp, and it can be an older Chirp, as all my radios would work fine with Chirp that is a couple years old. [chirp_users] FT-60R can't upload to radio

I'm having an issue with CHIRP and my Yaesu FT-60R. I can download from the radio, but can't upload. A bit of Googling showed me that this is not an uncommon issue. Following some of the advice I found on there, I picked up an FTDI USB-Serial adapter (I was using a Prolific at first), but the issue persists. I keep getting the "Radio did not respond" error when I try to upload. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! 73, Matt, N0EYE

I am a long-time Chirp user, but I just joined the support list and I don't know if an archive is available. I apologize if this issue has already been discussed. Attempts to query RepeaterBook for either political or proximity queries are returning "No channels found" even though I receive results when I run the same queries via the RepeaterBook website. - I have tried both "city, state" and "zipcode" queries for both 2m and 70cm bands with 25 and 50 mile radius on proximity. - I tried Cumberland County, TN for the political query. - I tried the queries both with and without a VPN enabled (NordVPN) to rule out network location issues on my end. In the past I have not had any issues with the query capability. I am running the latest Mac Unified build "chirp-unified-daily-20220118.app" on a mid-2014 Macbook Pro Retina running Big Sur 11.6.2. I don't believe the attached radio should make any difference, but I have attached and downloaded from the radio the current configuration for a Baofeng UV-82HP. I’m trying to help my boyfriend’s Dad pick out a laptop that he can install CHIRP on and needed to know whether the Microsoft Surface Laptops running Windows 10 and Windows 11 in S Mode were compatible. I read through everything I could. I’m tech savvy but know nothing about Ham Radios. I don’t want him to purchase a computer that he can’t download and run CHIRP on. Thank you!
