[chirp_users] Help with Yaesu FT-90R

I have a Valley Enterprises FTDI cable RPC-Y29C-UF and trying to use with Yaesu-FT90R. I first tried this on my Mac which works for my other Wooxun. I launch Chirp and select Download from Radio. After I selected my model radio and port /dev/cu.usbserial-A105ZGRL I see the message about Putting into clone mode. I did this and it says CLONE on the display, I then plug in and continue. I get this message after about 10 second. [chirp_users] CHIRP Not Communicating With ComputerS

I have not had to do anything with my Baofeng and Yaesu radios for quite a while but our group has added some new frequencies so it time to update. Neither my Yaesu VX-6Rs nor my Baofeng UV-5Rs will communicate with either my Linux Netbook or my WIndows 10 computers. In the case of the Linux box, I have added my user name to the Dialout group then rebooted. In the case of the Windows machines I have changed the Baofeng cable to the Prolific 3.2.0.0 driver that I downloaded today from the Miklor site. The Yaesu cable is an FTDI cable and was always recognized previously. The cables are fully inserted in each case and the volume is maxed out. Device Manager shows both cables as working. The Baofeng cable reports as COM7 and the Yaesu cable as COM6 I'm never surprised with the Windows machines need some tinkering to work but CHIRP and Linux have always worked will in the past. What am I missing. I suspect it's something simple. Many thanks for reading. Tom

I have a Kenwood 372G (1). The radio shows - PC- and CHIRP seems to indicate everything is going smooth (cloning) until the very end. The radios are for work and I only want to leave commercial frequencies in it. I guess I haven't figured out how to report an issue, so bear with me for posting here. The debug file is attached. The errors above the one in the subject got corrected and can be ignored, I think. Thanks.

IC 7100 downloads info however unable to use chirp to upload the DR DStar repeater csv. unrecognized format is response. File generated by Dstarinfo.com DR file creator. their files work on TH D74 id 5100 etc. Missing fields as well as unable to update dstar mgmt screens. Thanks Keith W5KB

I'm saving this reply to my Kenwood notes, because I'm sure that I'll forget the answer by the next time I want to know. I have a new Baofeng BF-F8HP which isn't programming correctly. In the new radio the channel NAMES aren't being programmed, everything else seems to work... This is an improvement over the last version, which said INCORRECT VERSION.. when I tried to read the information from the radio.... Downloaded the new version today ... hello, in attempting to program the uv82hp for frs/gmrs i get "out of supported range" error. in "other settings", the lower/upper limits are within range. any ideas? thanks

Hello all, Call me new to everything - brand new ham (VA7TJL), new Chirp user, and have a new radio. I've read docs, but please let me know if the questions are too dumb. I've picked up a Baofeng DM-5R, V3 as seen here: https://www.fleetwooddp.com/products/pre-order-baofeng-dm-5r-v3-2018-digita… It shows up as BF-5R on the boot screen, but neither that nor DM-5R are listed as supported. I did see though that there are other Baofeng radios under new and unusual names, that might be supported as a variant of one that is known.
