Hello every one, I'm new to the use of chirp and I need a few pointers. When I attach my id800 to my computer with the clone cable attached to the audio out on the radio in cl out mode the software says "out of sync with radio". I must be doing something wrong... Hi all, I just posted 0.1.10b8 with the following changes: - Automatic tuning step selection when entering a frequency that requires something like 12.5 or 6.25 - Fix setting 12.5-step frequencies in IC-2200 - Add digital code squelch support for all radios (except V/U82 just yet, since I don't have one to test with) - Add radio model auto-detection so that you don't have to choose it each time you do a download There is a lot of stuff in 0.1.10b that isn't public yet so I think we better have a real release soon. There were a few issues, one of which was specific to the 2200. The memory editor will now force a tuning step of 12.5 kHz or 6.25 kHz (although not 6.25 in the case of the 2200, of course) if you enter a frequency that requires it. This works for all radios. The 2200 driver was also failing to set a flag that tells it and the radio which multiplier to use when calculating 12.5 kHz step frequencies, which is what caused the main issue. [chirp_users] Help with Chirp: will download but not upload

Hello, I have emailed Dan about this issue before but I thought I would ask the group about this to get some additional opinions. I am trying to use Chirp (several versions including the 0.1.10b7 beta) with my IC-2820 connected via the data port. I have tried from Windows (XP and Vista) and Ubuntu and in each case I get the same result: I am able to download the contents of the radio with no problem, but when uploading the software shows a gas gauge for a minute or so, then returns to the main window. The radio display says 'CLONE' the entire time, and does not power cycle when the software appears to finish. The cable is a homebrew OPC-1529R going to an FTDI USB-to-serial adapter. I believe the cable must be OK, since I am able to download. Dan suggested I try using an OPC-478 on the SP-2 port...I built one using http://seed-solutions.com/gregordy/Amateur%20Radio/Experimentation/CIVInter… but I get errors from Chirp when using this (unexpected response from radio), and I have not been able to find a good method to test this interface I have GPS TX MODE and GPS AUTO TX disabled. Is there some other setting in the 2820's menu that might cause this? Can someone confirm for me that the radio should indicate 'CLONE IN' when Chirp is uploading? It seems it should since it shows 'CLONE OUT' when downloading. Also, can anyone suggest some troubleshooting commands I can send to the radio using Hyperterminal, etc. to verify that it is receiving commands? I have found lots of CI-V commands but nothing showing the IC-2820's CI-V address; I suspect that radios with clone-only capabilities (no rig control) do not have an address, but there must be some command to trigger the clone-in sequence. Are there any id880 users out there that can help test the new driver? 2. Are people actively using CHIRP? I know that there are a couple of people who are, but I'm starting to wonder if I should not spend time on further development. I know a couple of people which actively use it for their 2820 and are quite happy with the software. Hi all, I just posted CHIRP 0.1.10b5 with some preliminary ID880 support. That's the only change, so if you're not interested in using it with an ID880 there's nothing else to see. If anyone has an ID80 and would like to try doing a clone, I'd appreciate it. I don't think it's going to work because I think the radios are more different than the marketing stuff would have us believe, but I don't really know. If you try to clone an ID80, please send me the image (if you get one) and the debug log (even if the clone fails). The ID880 support is somewhat preliminary, but most of the basic stuff works. The D-STAR fields and lists are not yet working properly yet. Since the 80 and 880 changed the way the repeater lists work, there will be some work I have to do to figure out how to merge these into the common radio model that CHIRP implements. I used Chirp plus a CSV file to load my 2820. Worked well until I realized you can put over 100 channels in a bank with chirp. If you use Icom CS afterwards, the Icom SW doesn't like over 100 channels in a bank. The radio doesn't seem to mind, though. Hi all, I just posted CHIRP 0.1.10b4 with the following changes: - Make import avoid merging callsign lists if the destination radio doesn't require the use of said lists - Add mass location modification buttons to import dialog - Make the hi/lo limit adjustments hit the 'go' button when user presses enter - When changing the lo limit to a value above the current, automatically increase the hi limit by 25 - Add a "recent" submenu to the Radio menu, which makes it quicker and easier to access recent radios - Fix issue when importing from an ID-800 image file containing "*NOTUSE*" repeater calls Hopefully the usability improvements in this version will be of interest to some people. They came from me doing a lot of radio programming this weekend and getting frustrated with things :) The "mass modification" buttons make it easy to increment/decrement the new location of every imported memory (i.e. conversion to/from radios that start at 1 instead of 0) as well as reverse or auto-number the new imports. The hi/lo limit change makes it much quicker for me to jump to a range of memory locations with just the keyboard.
