Not sure in what way Excel is not compatible with chirp? I am using it as I develop and share a list of Emergency Op Ctr channels. The initial pass consisted of reading from a IC-2100H (most of the local EOCs are using this), saving both img and csv, editing the csv in Excel, and using the results to upload to the 2100. I didn't have a problem...maybe the error is radio-dependent? I recently got a Yaesu FT-65. I didn't get the programming cable from Yaesu (it's $40), but I did get one that works for it that has the same chip. I'm running Windows 11 and have the latest version of chirp. When I plug the radio in and press read from radio, I get the error message "Failed to communicate with radio: Incorrect ACK on serial port." I've tried different cables, drivers, different modes on the radio, looked through the issues, looked up the error, I even tried it on a spare laptop running Linux to see if Windows was the problem. Same error there. Is it the cable or something else? If anyone knows or had this problem before I'd really appreciate the help! Thanks

[chirp_users] Help in Code Modification and Information Gathering

Hallo and good morning, anybody on the list active in programming and can tell me, how to get information aboput data structures and communication protocol on serial tty, to understand what is happening? I want to modify code to add support for anytone at 5555 and have no idea how to get it. I thought about sniffing rs232 from a windows machine to reverse engineering, but have and want no windows machine here. Now i am searching for a short intruduction or some tips where to get the information without analyzing serial port communication. Maybe some handy developers are present on that list and can send me a bit information. In the case of success, of course i will share my results! Best regards Chris (I am able in programming C)

[chirp_users] Trying to get VOX working on an RT20

Hello. One of the reasons I bought a bunch of RT20s was that they supposedly come with VOX. Why on earth don't they preload it if the thing is advertised to come with it? I am trying to talk to the radio via a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), running 10.15.7 (Catalina). I have installed CHIRP legacy. I went to Download from Radio, but the RT20 isn't listed. I am sorry if this is a repeat question, but I couldn't find a searchable version of the archives. Thank you! K
