[chirp_users] Possible Bug in DSTAR Settings - chirp-daily-20200213-installer

I installed the version mentioned in the subject today, and was able to successfully read my Icom ID-51 Plus. I want to replace one of the values in the Your Call field on the D-STAR tab, but I'm not getting my new values to stick in the field. * I click on the D-STAR tab on the left, and I have values in the Your Callsign column. * I click on an existing value so that I can edit it. * I Cut, delete, or backspace out the value in the field I've selected. * I add my new value. * I click on another row or tab out of the field to get out of the one I've just changed. * I do a File/Save or File/Save As to save the changes. * I Move from the D-STAR to other tabs and back to D-STAR to verify that I still see my new value. * I close the file and reopen it * I see the original value in the field that I changed. To confirm that I'm really saving the file I changed something in the Memories tab before I saved. That change sticks, but the one in D-STAR does not. I also tried writing the data back to the radio after saving, but the radio has the old value. And, I tried putting the new value in a Your Callsign row that is already blank. The other sections on the D-STAR tab may be the same. Thanks for a great app! 73 Dan W4DTO

It seems it is not stressed enough that you must, VERY FIRST THING, download an image of your radio and save it, and lock it down. Use it as a template for everything moving forward. Never save over it, replace and/or delete it. Maybe getting rid of File /new and only make available download image and open. Dennis M. [chirp_users] benefits of upgrading

Hi, I'm wondering what if any benefits there would be to upgrading Chirp software, if one's radio is already one of the options to choose from? I would think that the only benefits would be if the radio you wish to program has not yet been an option, and it was recently added to the selection. I guess I don't typically read the list of changes added to Chirp, so perhaps I'm missing the obvious. I sometimes think that if it ain't broke, don't fix it, so I typically don't update my chirp, but when I install a new Live Linux, I typically install a new build. Just wondering when noticing that someone updated their chirp, and now it does not work for them. Glenn

|Hello, | |I am using a FTDI USB Cable from Valley Enterprises to connect my Macbook Pro to an Yaesu FT-60R. It worked great initially, but since upgrading to the latest CHIRP build, I have been unable to program my FT-60R or even begin by downloading the channel image from the radio. I downloaded and reinstalled KK7DS_Python_Runtime_R10.pkg, FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_4_2, and |chirp-unified-daily-20200207 <https://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_daily/LATEST/chirp-unified-daily-202…>. I followed the procedures for downloading the memory for my radio and received a message saying: /**//*A error has occurred*//////*Failed to communicate with radio*//////*Reading block 0 was short (62) */Can anyone help me get this to work. [chirp_users] Missing USB connectivity

I updated to the latest build and one of the connectivity choices seems to have disappeared. The only option I can get is this: /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port I'm using the cable supplied by my radio manufacturer. Everything worked with all my radios before the upgrade. Should I try and revert to an earlier build or is there another solution? Any help is greatly appreciated. Tim Duffy
