[chirp_users] Communication Issues with new UV-5R EX

I just purchased a UV-5R EX off of Amazon and am having trouble getting it to communicate with CHIRP. The same hardware/software config works just fine with my BF-F8HP. I get the problem whether I select Raddiodity/UV-5R EX or Baofeng/UV-5R. This is on linux, and I have the problem with the latest Mercurial commit as well as 20180906 and 20181018. I've also reproduced the problem on Windows, which also communicates just fine with the BF-F8HP just fine. I just unplug the one radio from the mic connection and plug in the other and it starts/stops working, so I'm pretty certain it isn't a driver/permissions/etc issue. This is with an FTDI-based USB cable. The radio reports its firmware version (when holding down 3) as BFS001. I couldn't tell you whether this is correct as it isn't communicating with CHIRP so I'm not getting more than that. I also tried fiddling with the baud settings on the serial device in linux and it didn't make any difference. Has anybody run into issues with newer radios? Is it possible there was a firmware change not handled by the software? I'm happy to debug or test patches/etc if helpful. The radio is just in factory config so I don't really care about losing any settings as long as it isn't bricked. -- Rich

[chirp_users] New MacBook Pro Issue

I have used CHIRP in the past with an older MacBook with no issues. Now I have the MacBook Pro 2018 with USB-C. -I have the Apple supplied FTDI drive & no others. -Only bluetooth shows up in the connect menu -I also am using a new Baofeng. I used to have the UV-5R but now I’m using a BF-F9HP which I understand is supposed to be a UV-5R variant. Do I select UV-5R or BF-F8 in the menu? Can anyone provide a starting point? A few of questions on the above subject when using Chirp:- Can you confirm when setting the ctcss codes for transmit and receive you use the columns 'tone' and 'tonesql' ? I have tried to set these columns to 67.0 but when uploaded to the radio they get set to 118.8. How do I fix this? I am trying to set up my radios to to talk to a friends Motorola T80 using a PMR a channel with a ctcss sub code. The Motorola uses a step of 12.5 on ctcss against an average of 2.5 on the Baofeng. Is there any way to alter the step sequence on the Baofeng? Cheers Calum

Hi all! New member of the list, new user of Chirp and new user of the QYT KT-7900D. Before i received my KT-7900D i read "somewhere" on the internet that a user of this radio had the issue that he can only hear what is happening on the air when he uses the Monitor. Scanning stops whenever there is a signal, but the squelch doesn't open. I thought it had something to do with the radio expecting a receive tone as well to get open the squelch, but i'm not sure what exactly he did to fix this. Was that on this list? I have the same issue. Ton.

I recently acquired a KG-UV8D radio. It has v1.05 firmware. It seems to read the info on the "Settings" tab OK... but changes I make there don't stick. If I edit them, save the file, and then re-open the file, it has reverted to the previous settings. I haven't tested all of those settings, but that is true specifically for the Display Message and ANI code in Key Settings, as well the channel in the VFO x Settings. I have a KG-UV6D radio and I haven't run into this issue with it, so I presume this is specific to CHIRP's support for this particular model. When I first tried this, I was running the 20180614 release, but I installed the latest 20181018 release with same result. Ideas? Dave

Kenwood 372G error using 6/17 driver. Another driver was created earlier this year, 5/18. That driver seemed to work when added as a temporary patch. I don't know if the new driver was completely verified by anyone. I also cannot find where the working one was ever made part of the daily build. Any help would be appreciated

FYI, I use several QYT qyt 7900D radios with chirp and have no issues with them. The scanning should not stop unless there is no tone required, or the correct tone is there, I would double check the sql level programmed and the other parms. This is just a FYI from me. Most radios have a minimum of 6 character display for memory. Here is my naming convention. Digits 1 and 2 are the county. Digits 3 and 4 are the city. Digit 5 is U(hf) or V(hf) Digit 6 is Numeric 1-9 for instances of more multiple repeaters in a city. When you have multiple dozens of repeater channels this quickly helps you see which is which. I just used Chiro for the first time with my Yaesu VX-170. After a few false starts, it took off and read the radio. I did a few tweeeks to the data and had to carefully read the info to get it to write back to the radio. Once all the right button were pressed it wrote my data back to the radio. I'll be sure to use chirp and will not be a novice too much longer. Thanks for a good program guys. Clayton K4QM

Hi Dennis, That's pretty much what I do with the Puxing 888. Simplex and repeaters in two groups, RAYNET frequencies in a third. I did the same with a dual-band Baofung I owned at one time, lots of memories needed, plus more groups for CTCSS tones! I don't like it when other Chirp users ask why anyone wants to do it differently to the way they do it, thus suggesting that their way is the only way to save and retrieve data to and from a radio, and then not answering the question anyway! Its a long time since I did it, but my recollection is that for a CSV file any unused cells should, upon downloading from the radio, appear as just a single terminating comma, probably resulting in many long strings of commas. So new data can be entered in between the commas, but one would have to be sure they were the correct two commas. I'd be tempted to do it in Excel or similar, where the unused cells would appear as blank cells, all ready for the filling-up of by the enthusiastic radio amateur. The Excel data would have to be converted back to a CSV file before uploading to the radio. Hope this is of some use to somebody! If not it doesn't really matter, I wasn't doing anything else... Hello group, I'm having trouble programming my Kenwood TH-D72 Ht. I have a feeling I'm missing something really obvious, so I apologize if this is a stupid question: In Chirp there are options to work with the radio in "Clone Mode" and "Live Mode". Trying to read from the radio in live mode doesn't yield any results. Also, I don't know what I would do to put the radio into clone mode; I can't find anything in the manual about that. What am I missing? System: Windows 10, current version of Chirp. The system has the virtual com port driver from Kenwood installed. Also, I CAN read from the radio using the Kenwood MCP-4A software. I'm trying to use chirp though because I can't import a CSV into the MCP-4A program (the only option is a TravelPlus csv file, and I don't have an example of that format). I have just downloaded latest Chirp (CHIRP daily-20180906). Using Windows 10, Com port 3, Vendor Yaesu, Model FT-450D. My CAT cable works fine with "PCC for FT-450D", WSJT-X , "Ham Radio Deluxe" & "FREE450", but not "Chirp"! Followed instructions to download from radio & got message:- An error has occurred - Failed to communicate with radio: Unable to read block 0 expected 6 got 4. Any ideas? My FT-450D has the UK 60m frequencies plumbed into the memories - will these be saved in Chirp? I want to update the radio's firmware, so want to backup the memories including the 60m ones. Thanks

Hi, I am new to CHIRP, and a fairly new HAM as well. I have CHIRP installed, and try to connect to my BAOFENG UV-82. CHIRP will not let me select a COM port. I am using the cable that BAOFENG sells. The cable came with a disk, but it is in Chinese, and when I try to change the setting to English, it says it cannot write to the disk. Starting the BAOFENG software (BF480), it is all in Chinese and with question marks as I don't have Chinese fonts. It probably is a driver issue, but I don't know where to get the right driver. Any help greatly appreciated! Berrie

Read through the last couple months of archives, didn’t see anything directly related. Using the latest chirp, I cannot program or read from a retevis RT-22. Used to clone them all the time, then we didn’t need any for a while, got a new batch, and all I get when I try to read is an “unknown identification string”, and if I try to download programming from the img file we were using before, I get an error about 5 tries, but haven’t been able to get that to come up again. If I load the RT22 software downloaded from retevis, it fires right up, and can at least read the radio config, I haven’t tried writing it again. I programmed some RT22’s about 2 months ago, and didn’t have any of these issues, so I’m not sure if it’s a retevis firmware change, or what. Debug.log is attached. I found this old bug report from several years ago that I thought might address my issue: https://chirp.danplanet.com/issues/254 I tried changing the baud rate for the COM port I'm using, but it made no difference. I get the same error whether I'm in clone mode or not. Any ideas?

Some BaoFeng radios include a "6+Power-On Message" which can be displayed by holding down the 6 key while powering on the radio. These message strings are stored in "6+Power-On Message" lines 1 & 2 as displayed by CHIRP in "Settings" > "Other Settings". Line 1 of the "6+Power-On Message" is apparently included (in parentheses) in the filenames of some of the CHIRP recovery images maintained at Jim's site, here: http://kc9hi.dyndns.org/uv5r/programming/CHIRPrecovery/ For example, "N82-33 US2S35(150602N)(factory).img" includes "(150602N)" in the filename. I believe this image applies to the BaoFeng UV-82HP, and one of these units I own did include "150602N" in line 1 of the "6+Power-On Message". I say "did" because apparently this string is cleared by resetting the radio to factory defaults via MENU > 40 > RESET > ALL. Anyway, these strings look suspiciously like manufacturing date codes. For example, 150602N would decode to 2015-06-02, which is just a few months before the "Last modified" file date of 12-Oct-2015 (as displayed in the CHIRP recovery image listing in the web browser). As far as I can tell, for *all* of the files in the CHIRP recovery images directory which include such a string , that string decodes to a date that is a few days to a few months prior to the "Last modified" date. And in no case does any such string decode to a date that is later than the "Last modified" date. Can anyone confirm that these strings do indeed represent manufacturing date codes? Also, does anyone have a radio that still displays this "6+Power-On Message" after resetting the radio to factory defaults? Thanks... (Peter)

Indeed, so why are we indirectly promoting the use of counterfeit devices then? If the chip is "Genuine", the currently available "Official" driver, /will/ work. Yes, I too have accumulated some dodgy chip driven adapters, just as everyone I suspect has. I am slowly replacing them as I find them, not because they don't work (they work just fine under Linux, for now.) But because they all have the same identity and no serial number, making the use of multiple devices and nailing their feet to the numeric floor with Udev rules, rather troublesome. I prefer FTDI parts, as by default they all have a unique serial number, making Udev rules easy and reliable. SiLabs parts are a close second choice*, with Prolific only if there is absolutely no other alternative. Even the genuine Prolific chips don't seem to have a "unique" identity. (Unless I've not yet seen a "Genuine" chip!) General Linux trick: What I've found is that if you build a Udev table for regularly connected devices, starting from /dev/ttyUSB1 (or higher) then anything else that is randomly connected later, will always show up as ttyUSB0 or 2 etc, as they is still vacant. Problem solved. I installed the 3.2.0.0 into Windows 10 from Miklor web site. All is well. Never had any problem with Windows XP or Windows 7, until I tried it on my Windows 10 laptop. I already have the BTECH FTDI cable, thanks Bryan. And I've never had a problem with the drivers that Windows Update provides for the FTDI chipset on Windows 10. I'm just offering Microsoft's "driver rollback prevention solution" (below) for whomever might want it, for whatever device. It's a way to prevent driver updates for specific devices, as opposed to preventing all updates for all devices, or disabling Windows Update entirely (which is not a good idea). Quiet frankly, better to go to the chipset makers own website and get the correct and likely mallware free ones. Not to say Miklor website is bad, but it's just another third party website with a collection of files, that "could" not be safe. They might also not be the latest copies of the official drivers. I'm sure they (whoever "Miklor" are) take care to keep things clean, but they would not be the first or only site to have their repository of useful stuff compromised. http://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_GettingStarted.php States the situation very well. However, they wrongly state that FTDI devices don't have that problem. Sorry, but yes they do, there are just as many fake FTDI chips out there as Prolific! The difference is that the official drivers will usually work with them*. But, if you need to alter their behavior (the handshake or status lines, or "which way up" the data lines work) then you'll find that functionality is missing from the fake chips. * FTDI a while ago did create a storm however, by putting code in the "official" drivers, that could detect the fakes and in turn reprogram the VID/PID info to all zero's rendering them unusable. It is however possible to re-program that information, but it takes some research plus confidence with command line tools on a Linux PC. (As far as I know, the tool for that isn't, or wasn't available for Windows. I can't even remember what it's name is either.) FTDI soon after, then pushed out a driver that did not disable the things, but for all we know, it may report back to FTDI, or somewhere, any instances of fake chips. No, I did not say they DO that, just that they could. If it was my IP that was ripped off, I'd want to know how bad the problem was, and that would be a way to find out. The Fake chips are actually micro-controllers programed to emulate the real devices. That they do amazingly well, but not 100%. I have encountered some that were marked up as FTDI, but were functioning as Prolific devices! The supplier I used had no idea, but did apologize and gave me a full refund on the return of the stock I bought for a work project. I wouldn't trust Amazon either to only ship non-counterfeit cables either! In Amazon's defense, it's often not their fault, and often the actual vendor doesn't know either! (See above...) I usually make up my own cables using known good modules from the makers themselves, or from known reputable resellers. It's not difficult, and you learn stuff too. (Isn't that what we're supposed to be doing?) The SiLabs USB/Serial bridge products are also very good, and as yet(?) Not counterfeited, unless someone knows different. Take care. 73. I have two different Baofeng programming cables. In Windows Device Manager, one shows "Prolific USB to Serial Comm Port", the other shows "USB-Serial CH340." Both work equally well under Windows XP, Windows 7, and Linux Mint with multiple different Baofeng HTs. However, only the "USB-Serial CH340" works with Windows 10. What's the difference? Anyone else having this issue? Any thoughts how to make "Prolific USB to Serial Comm Port" work with Windows 10? I'm really beginning to hate Windows 10. Tnx, Richard AG5M

Howdy. Ive just joined this list but have been using Chirp for around 4 years with various radios. How can I get things moving along with the Zastone D9000 radio ? The manufacturer is not very forthcomming with help. I have the Ver 1.0.0.0 software from them but its really frustrating to use and I have now found a painful bug in the software regards reading and programing the receive only memories. No response from them on that problem either. So it would be great to get this one going with Chirp. I have seen requests off the list about this model previously on chirp some years ago but it may have fallen by the wayside. Tell me what help I can provide to get this moving with Chirp. I recently ordered this TENQ "cloning" cable from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MK02BX2 This cable has Kenwood style connectors (3.5mm TRS & 2.5mm TRS) on each end, for radio-to-radio configuration copy between Baofeng, Wouxun, and "any two-pin style radio with a Kenwood Baofeng plug". I wanted to verify the pinout before adding it to my radio bag. So I spent several hours scouring the Internet for a wiring diagram for such a cable, but with no success. Even simple pinout descriptions were somewhat vague ("back-to-back", etc.). So I ultimately buzzed out the cable with a DVM, tabulated the results, and mocked up a JPEG diagram based on an image that originally came from Miklor.com. See attached for the finished product. The diagram shows that the cable basically has Data Tx from one end connected to Data Rx on the other and vice-versa, with Data Ground connected between both ends. I wanted to submit this to John for possible inclusion on his site, but I don't see any contact form there. I do know that he posts to this list so here I am... Peter - at least you have a cable that you can easily chop up to make a connection to something else. I recently had to make a TNC cable for the baofeng using individual 3.5 and 2.5mm connectors. You can cut your up and get 2 for one! Problem: I can't program Kenwood TM-G707 using CHIRP and the FTDI cable from valley-ent.com When running the "Download from Radio" menu command, I am getting stopped by an error message in CHIRP: An error has occurred could not open port COM3: [Error 5] Acccess is denied I am experienced with CHIRP and the Kenwood TM-G707 is listed as a supported radio. I have had success with Baofeng radios and Yaesu radios with both BTech and valley-ent.com FTDI cables. Valley-ent sent me a replacement cable...same error message. I confirmed the Com port assignment in Device Mgr (Win 10 and 7). I have tried installing the latest drivers and have tried installing the old 2007 drivers. Have experimented w. 3 different Win 10 computers and one Windows 7 machine. HELP, please and thank you. - Mike Mc -

Hi, I got the new variation on the uv-5r (uv-5r ex). Trying to get it to program I kept getting "radio fail to respond". I discovered if you put pressure on the radio end of the cable you can read the radio. Evidently the jack is recessed a little more than on that model so it won't reach to make contact. You might can trim the connector back a bit and make it work. I'll try that next..73 Alan --

Check in your users' manual to see for that particular model. Most have 127 (128 if you count channel 0) channels, although it get fun when you have some of the later ones with dual and tri-band thngies. CHIRP calls the "Memories" in the upper left of the page. Hi, I had an error uploading to radio, but as I'm not sure if it's an error or something I did wrong, I wanted to ask before opening an issue. What I did: 1. Clone from radio. 2. Import from stock conf --> EU LPD and PMR 3. Selected only PMR from 1 to 16, and used those numbers accordingly. 4. Well, CHirp is actually supposed to open as a window with no content. The content doesn;t show up until you read from a radio, open a file, or import from the various sources. With regard to using the PPAs, I'm far from an expert, but my first guess would be that you need to uninstall the chirp you got from the ubuntu software stre befire attempting to use the PPAs. The metadata region begins with a magic string followed by a base64-encoded json blob. I figure we can call all images created up until now "version zero" format, since they really aren't formatted at all. Any major format changes after this can increment the counter in the magic (although it's unlikely we would need to). The metadata currently saved includes the radio model details and the class used at the time the file was created. All existing images will still load, but when they are saved, will be augmented with metadata. Note that this will mean images saved from newer versions of chirp will not be readable by older versions which will be confused by the metadata. One major feature this brings is the ability to make radio aliases (and other weak subclasses) be "sticky" across save/load cycles. Right now if you download with an alias (such as the Arcshell AR-6 alias of the BF-888), the file will be detected and reported as a BF-888 from that point forward. With metadata in the image, we can properly select the alias on load to provide better UX. This includes some low-effort tweaking of the directory and clone code to select the right radio class based on metadata if present, and to properly return a radio class for the alias, if one matches. We might want to re-structure the alias class arrangement after this to make them properly-registered and fully-functional subclasses so that the hacky DynamicRadioAlias subclassing done here isn't necessary. Also note that the generic saving code will not append metadata for filenames not ending in .img, to preserve behavor for .vx5 files, etc. If a filename forces a non-standard file extension, the metadata will not be added and the result will be effectively the same as the older format (which then may not be loaded properly if it is mis-detected as a different model). Dan, et alia: I am interested in getting an inexpensive HT that is Tri-Band and decent. Now, if anyone is a technical purist about specifications I already realize that any of the sub-$100 HTs are not going to come close to the ICOM 52A or something like that. I am considering to get an HT that is inexpensive and not something I will cry over if I drop it or it gets lost/stolen, whatever. However, with the forgoing in mind, I want to try to pick the best one that I can, so I am curious about everyone's ideas. Moreover, I surely want something that is compatible with Chirp and to get or make the right kind of cable for it. The one radio I looked at so far was the BaoFeng UV-5x3 (I own no 220 radios, so it'd be fun to have that capability too). I am driving cross country soon and don't have any radios to take with me (they are all in the east coast). Once I get there I will have some ICOM radios (ICOM 5100A and an ID-1 installed). Again, I am not out to start a "religious war", just get some opinions from people about (obviously) programmability (keypad and via computer) as well as day to day function and experiences. Thanks for the link. I have read the info. But the error does not appear to be a driver, port, or cable problem. I was really looking for a reason for the error in order to troubleshoot further. [chirp_users] MTC uv-5r-3 Self-inflicted problem

I just got a Baofeng UV5R-3 from MTCRadio. I didn't realize that the radio could be found under MTC for the brand, but in the meantime I found that I could upload from it in regular UV5R mode. I ended up downloading an image to it from a regular UV5R. Then I discovered that Chirp had it covered already under MTC. I have tried resetting it and uploading from it, but i can't get it to work. Does anyone have a known-good image that I could attempt to load onto the phone and make it happy again? Or any other advice? My son also bought one and hasn't tried programming his yet. I have warned him of my folly and asked him to save me a blank image file from his when he gets around to it. Thanks, Bruce W8BPM

Programmed some radios for club members and successfully programmed a couple of UV-5Rs. The a guy showed up with a GT-3. Used the GT-3WP selection and tried to upload a file. I got some kind of firmware mismatch message. Did spend a lot of time with it, but just asking if anyone has run across this problem and how to fix.... de NH6BF

I have recently purchased a BTech two bander, have several other similar 2M/.70cm HT’s that work great; still not sure if it is programmed correctly on 220, receives local repeat fine but doesn’t seem to open it. Unfortunately it isn’t used much. Used CHIRP to program it and it only has CTSS on up. Also found a Yeasu FT24 HT on sale for under $70 dual band, very nice little radio. I had installed the driver for a USB cable from Valley Enterprise for my Yaesu FT-60. Three installs and it (Mac) finally recognized the driver and cable. That was six months back. I acquired another cable for my Yaesu FT-29 2m radio. I must have got an OS update (High Sierra OS, version 10.13.6) that I cannot call up the drivers for either one (it should be only one driver upgrade). I haven’t even got to the part of trying to get Chirp to frustrate me! I know there are folks out there that have more computer smarts than I, especially when it comes to Mac. Chirp has suddenly stopped communicating with my 897. I have checked all com port settings in the program/computer/and radio All are OK. The 897 will still work with other programs on the same com port. Rebooted, no jot. Should I try and reset the radio? Randy W4RTT

I am trying to install the most recent CHIRP files and get an error. When I try to execute the installer file chirp-daily-20180707-installer.exe I get an error message "Error Opening File for Writing c:\ProgramFiles\(x86)CHIRP\_ctypes.pyd. The problem I have, and it was apparent in earlier versions but seems to be a serious issue with the most recent early July version. while programming when you move to the next line the settings for the PL tones on the previous line you just used change, whether or not you hit the save button; The most common setting reverting to is a PL tone of 88.5. Also does not want to keep settings when repeater use a stone instead of TSQL (A one-sided tone repeater). I am having great difficulty programming a B Tech hand held in 220. I've been having trouble getting Chirp to work with my Baofeng GT3 and a Windows 8 machine. Chirp just cannot read the usb port and the radio. I have tried a different cable (that ironically worked under Win 7) and this cable worked with a different radio (same model) and Win 10. The software I have installed is chirp-daily-20180707-installer.exe. When the cable is plugged in I can see the description in device manager. Some suggestions about where to go from here would be appreciated.

DAN. I just thought you might want a HAPPY message. I hate upgrades, and software problems always seem to find me. But when I was dusting out my 8 y/o Win-7 (64 bit) computer I found some swelled caps on the motherboard. Hardware doesn't scare me, and I have the caps to replace them. But really, it was time to move up to Win-10. I am going from a 2.3 GHz Duo-Core processor on 2 GB of RAM to a 3.6 GHz Octo-Core processor on 16 GB of Ram, and a 128 MB SSD. The old 21" monitors are not compatible with the new computer, so I got 2 new 27" monitors. Quite a move up. THE GOOD NEWS? I installed the DRIVER for my RT-Systems USB-62 cable. I installed CHIRP. I opened CHIRP. It found my USB-62 cable on Comm-3. I connected to my FT-817ND and downloaded my memory configuration. FIRST TRY. No Win-10 difficulties here. Yeah - the RT-Systems cable wasn't $5. More like $25. But the value of it working first time (and every time)? PRICELESS. My time is precious too, and worth more than $20 worth of cable savings. On to more software installations. Recently tried programming my Icom-2730a with Chirps latest build (July-7-2018). Im running chirp on my Mac with OSX High Sierra. I was able to read from the radio just fine, but when it came to the upload, the software would stall within the first 5 seconds. I would have to force quite chirp and hard shut down my mobile to exit everything. Im using the latest drivers with with my Prolific Chipset cable for MAC OSX. I later used a Windows machine running the same build of chirp and everything read and uploaded just fine. Any information on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated, I don’t always have access to a Windows machine regularly. Thanks, Matt

I have the original Baofeng BF-888S, but since them there appears to have been two updated versions, known as BF-888S Plus, one with an 1800 mAH battery, and the latest version with a 1900mAH battery. Question is, does CHIRP support all three versions of the BF-888S? And I see there is also a BF-999S version available but not listed on the CHIRP list. Does CHIRP also support that radio? I have 2 UV-5Rs and UV-5RA When hold the 3 key and turn on the power to get the firmware version they all report: BFB297 However, in Other Settings Firmware message 1 and 2 are as follows UV-5R #1 - HN5RV01 1FB297 (THIS RADIO IS HORRIBLE) UV-5R #2 - HN5RV01 1 UV-5RA - N5R2407 BFB297 I have some of the weirdest problems with these radios. For example on the UV-5RA (which seems to be the best one of the 3 ), with this one particular repeater I have to hit exit or A/B twice get rid of background noise during an incoming transmission. WHY EXIT??? How this pertains to chirp is I downloaded the RESET image from Miklor for firmware version BFB297. I get the warning about wrong firmware version with each radio. Can or does Chirp upload, or download from radio for that matter, any settings not seen in Chirp? Dennis M. [chirp_users] MacOS - Chirp Windowing Misalignment

I have a problem with Chirp on MacOS, specifically 10.12 or 10.13 with the most recent build or (much) older ones. I have two separate Mac's, one is my regular machine and the other is a test machine I just loaded with the latest downloads for chirp and python today. On both my mouse cursor doesn't track accurately with controls or cells in the Chirp window. The offset is vertical about 1 or 2 cells or controls typically. When this occurs I either see the bottom of the screen is either truncated or has a black band at the bottom, equal to the amount of offset. If I resize the screen, the cursor alignment is restored for a while, but it never lasts for more than a few actions. No special mouse/cursor software installed. Anyone seen this before? Hello All, I just downloaded my 857D’s memory to CHIRP. I have the memory banks turned on (although nothing saved to them) and in CHIRP I do not see any ‘banks’. Does CHIRP not support this? Or is it something else? Maybe that I don’t have any entries saved in banks? Thanks _________________
