What model to use in CHIRP for GT-5TP?

New Baofeng GT-3TP won't transmit 450MHz up

I just received a box of new GT-3TPs, and programmed them with CHIRP to my standard settings. But apparently they won't transmit in GMRS freqs, where I have both ham and GMRS licenses. In CHIRP Other Settings, here are the settings: UHF Lower Limit (MHZ) 400 UHF Upper Limit (MHz) 600 UHF TX Enabled check I reset one HT to factory and experimented with the rig bone stock. For it and the whole box of HTs. the highest they will go is 449.995MHz. Above that, the PTT button just beeps, as if the keyboard lock were on. Is this some new restriction? Can I use CHIRP to get around it? -- //CRL Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

I am using ZORIN PRO 17.1. I just upgraded from 15.something. Chirp was working just fine on the 15. I'm using a BAOFENG UV-5R. I have tried 2 different cables, which both worked before this upgrade. I am pretty sure I am doing something wrong. That is what usually happens. I have tried /dev/ttyUSB0 up to USB4 with no success. I could just have syntax wrong which is usually the case. I am not real good with the command line; i.e. I don't know a lot of commands but I do know how to get there. The attached file will show the information on the CHIRP version. It is a screen shot from the HELP prompt. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help -- Joel F. Leland

Fm radio station

I cant seem to find where i can change the fm radio station that my baofeng tunes to i used to be able to program it to a local station and pick up music with it. Did this feature get removed in the latest build Sent from my iPad

For the Baofeng UV-5R8W, which radio should I select? I am thinking it should be the BF-F8HP, but want to make sure since it is not listed on the web site (https://chirpmyradio.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home). Thanks, Eric

Digital trunked receiver

Does anyone have a digital trunk receiver that they can program to the new police frequencies that are scrambled? I don’t think particularly that they are scrambled. I think they are probably just coated so that you can’t get into that digital trunk. Any information on it thank you so much Jim Walters. Sent from my iPhone

RadioReference issues

Hi all, Just wanted to get the word out that something appears to have changed on the RadioReference API that is preventing us from doing queries. I've reported it to them and hopefully they can either fix it, or help explain what has changed so CHIRP can handle the difference.
