[chirp_users] With Windows 10, how do you change the driver for a prolific cable?

I recently tried to roll back the driver for a Prolific cable, but couldn't get my version of Windows 10 to allow this. The tab for "roll back driver" is grayed out. I tried to use the update driver, which I had downloaded the correct driver from Miklor, to load in. It kept saying that I had the best driver. Is there a workaround for this, now? I finally found my FTDI cable, and then didn't have any problems. But, I do have a couple of Prolific cables (no doubt fake), so, I would like to be able to use them. Thanks, if anyone has a solution.

I'm trying import a csv file into a chirp IMG file. It is one I exported, modified and now trying to import. Where have I gone wrong?. I exported the IMG from my radio beforehand. Dan

Setup: PC: MACBook Pro, late 2014, running Big Sur , USB- OPC-478p cable Radio: Icom IC-2820H Sequence: - Install and start CHIRP - install clone cable USB-478p to MacBook, recognized with no errors - Install device end of same clone cable, USB-478p to Icom Speaker1 - from CHIRP, download Radio (clone) successful - UPLOAD Radio hangs with the progress bar around 95-98% complete - CHIRP UPLOAD errors out (completion code not received from Radio) - Remove the clone cable from Icom and it displays “CLONE ERROR” The process for both download and upload to the IC-2820H works using Windows OS. I have read a few posts, did some searches on this CHIRP website.. as well as a lot of time on the App support sites… there isn’t much if anything about how Apple changes USB and other function… but haven’t figured it out. Thanks for your reply. The MemoryEditorColumns article in Wiki does not provide any info on the DTCS-R and TONE-R choices under the Tone Mode column when opening a NEW under the FILE tab.. Is there an updated version of the MemoryEditorColumns article? I understand the choices are different for each radio I would like to be familiar with all the choices provided when opening a NEW from the FILE tab. What do the choices DTCS-R and TONE-R do when selected in the Tone Mode column? I get the additional choices in the Tone Mode column when I open a NEW from the File tab. I do not get the additional choices when I Download from Radio from a UV5R BoaFeng. This was generating and error conditions that was preventing the Settings tabs from being displayed. This patch detects an unpopulated sub-VFO setting and populates the setting with the appropriate low band limit frequency. fixes #9617

[chirp_users] Yaesu FT-5D

I know it's been a while (over 3 months since the Yaesu FT-5D radio has be released and just as long as the info/issue (#9365) about using CHIRP with the FT-5D (https://chirp.danplanet.com/issues/9365) dated 09/11/2021. I also do not see the radio listed on the CHIRP site. Since then RT Systems and Yaesu both have applications to program the FT-5D. I've used the Yaesu ADMS14 through my Win10 VM and in my honest opinion it's complete garbage. It's the first Yaesu app that I've used to program a radio. CHIRP is by far THE best that I've used, AND it works on my Mac. Has any progress been made to have CHIRP be able to program the FT-5D? Even if it's just writing to a micro SD card that could be read by the radio it would be great. Thanks & 73. Jeff K3JRZ

Hi All, So I've reinstalled Ubuntu on my machine to 18X, so I can use the older Chirp. I connected the cables to my Kenwood 2000 and successfully downloaded from the radio. I noticed that it operates in live mode, like it does with my Kenwood TH F6 HT. I exported the memories into a CSV file, like with all my radios. I tried to find a settings tab while in Chirp, and was only able to navigate to the memories tab. I am wondering if we can affect the settings of the Kenwood 2000 while in Chirp. Thanks. Glenn
