The search results for Errno 13 all stated that it wasn't a CHIRP problem, but rather a computer problem. I can't confirm either way, but want to pass along what worked for me. I tried to uninstall CHIRP from the APPS in settings, but it couldn't find CHIRP. I went to the CHIRP folder and ran the uninstall.exe from there. Then I found and deleted every CHIRP file remaining before reinstalling. Do not trust the uninstall to remove leftover files and folders. It seems to require a total purge rather than a normal uninstall, but at least its running again. Thanks to those who offered help! Are you using a 3rd party virus scanner program? If yes, try launching CHIRP with it disabled. It has been a year or so since I Chirpped this radio successfully. Now it seems to clone for download from radio but no freqs show up on the Chirp spreadsheet.What will fix this, Please ? It's been over a year since I used Chirp on my Windows 10 laptop, at which time it worked fine. I installed new daily builds about a week ago and today. Chirp fails to load presenting the following error: The logfile'C:\Program Files(x86)\Chirp\chirpw.exe.log' could not be opened: [Errno 13]Permission denied:'C:\\ Program Files(x86)\\Chirp\\chirpw.exe.log <file:///\\Chirp\chirpw.exe.log> ' After the attempt a week ago, I uninstalled Chirp and reinstalled from the Daily Build. There is no chirpw.exe.log on the computer. Today's Daily Build did not improve the situation. I installed the Daily Build on my Windows 7 laptop and Chirp functions fine. [chirp_users] UV50x3 Options

When attempting to program BTech UV-50X3, I am unable to find the option to change the frequency range as it seems to have been limited somehow on my rig. Certain frequencies i.e. any amateur repeaters between 440.***Mhz and 446.*** Mhz can be programmed into CHIRP but the radio does not accept them and when I download the image from it they are zeroed out. Is there an earlier build which had this capability in the settings options that was possible changed by the one from whom I bought the rig, but with updated builds the option was eliminated?

I had found mention linking Errno 13 to anti-virus. I'm running the standard Avira and Malwarebytes Premium. I disabled Avira and individually disabled Web Protection, Exploit Protection, Malware Protection, and Ransomware Protection in Malwarebytes. Still the error. I actually couldn't locate the firewall settings to check that (Win 10 version 1709). I have a Valley Enterprises FTDI cable RPC-Y29C-UF and trying to use with Yaesu-FT90R. I first tried this on my Mac which works for my other Wooxun. I launch Chirp and select Download from Radio. After I selected my model radio and port /dev/cu.usbserial-A105ZGRL I see the message about Putting into clone mode. I did this and it says CLONE on the display, I then plug in and continue. I get this message after about 10 second. [chirp_users] CHIRP Not Communicating With ComputerS

I have not had to do anything with my Baofeng and Yaesu radios for quite a while but our group has added some new frequencies so it time to update. Neither my Yaesu VX-6Rs nor my Baofeng UV-5Rs will communicate with either my Linux Netbook or my WIndows 10 computers. In the case of the Linux box, I have added my user name to the Dialout group then rebooted. In the case of the Windows machines I have changed the Baofeng cable to the Prolific 3.2.0.0 driver that I downloaded today from the Miklor site. The Yaesu cable is an FTDI cable and was always recognized previously. The cables are fully inserted in each case and the volume is maxed out. Device Manager shows both cables as working. The Baofeng cable reports as COM7 and the Yaesu cable as COM6 I'm never surprised with the Windows machines need some tinkering to work but CHIRP and Linux have always worked will in the past. What am I missing. I suspect it's something simple. Many thanks for reading. Tom

I have a Kenwood 372G (1). The radio shows - PC- and CHIRP seems to indicate everything is going smooth (cloning) until the very end. The radios are for work and I only want to leave commercial frequencies in it. I guess I haven't figured out how to report an issue, so bear with me for posting here. The debug file is attached. The errors above the one in the subject got corrected and can be ignored, I think. Thanks.
