Hi everyone ! Just a quick note. I have the latest release version of chirp working OK with Windows 10 64bit on my desktop . There have been no issues so far with chirp while running windows 10 with either reading or transferring data to and from my GT-5 . I had to roll back the 3.6 driver to 3.2.2.0 that windows had initially installed . It was giving me a cannot start device error message. Once I rolled back the drivers there was no further issues. My IC-V82 doesn't work with Chirp. I am using Chirp for Mac. Works 100% with my Baofeng UV5-R. Chirp uploads from the radio and downloads to the radio until right at the end it says that there was an error and wipes the radio. I have to use a Windows machine to program it. Any ideas/solutions? I have been using chirp for years on my amateur band UV-3Rs but now I have received an Icom IC-A24 air band nav/com HT to replace my old air HT It looks like I will need a new USB-serial-3.5mm cable with TRS rather than TRRS perhaps a different pinout, ebay has them cheap The question is, can I even use chirp to program and clone the radio or does it use a different format than the amateur radios? Is there any risk trying to dump with chirp and the correct cable or do I need to run the official Icom software with WIne or virtualbox in Ubuntu?

Chirp 0.4.1 doesn't seem to recognize this radio. Is there a new build for Mac OS 10.10.5 for this? Sent from my iPhone

[chirp_users] What help is there for non-programmer to learn Chirp and Python for Icom IC-2800H

All, I sent to developer as well but maybe ask here as well. I have a circa 2000 Icom IC-2800H with virtual box XP on OS X for CS2800.exe cloning software. I am sucessfully downloading to ubuntu KBOIQ on old MacBook Laptop (64 bit) and maybe older HP 1125nr Netbook. I have been able to get memory sized and names in browser with skip bits mapped. I also figured that the memory frequencies are really weird to see in browser as hex. portmon, ICF and screen capture of CS-2800 are completed. Also attempted same on Icom IC-V8 with CS-V8, portman but no success with Chirp detecting or fake outs. What I have learned is in code at end of message. What I haven't learned is how to display in Chirps UI or how to decipher Python flow. Where should I go from here ? Radio is NOT available for loan. Visits or local (01450, USA) mentors are welcome though. Hi! I am a new subscriber to this list. Can anyone tell me if there is a daily build that works with the uv-5r, firmware Ver. NSR3409 BFP3-25 that will show the tree power levels. I found builds that work with my radio but they just show the high and low power levels. Thanks Marv VE4KE

Hi All, I have now got the problem cracked. I had to set to “Tone” and not “TSql” for those two channels. Both now work OK. Thanks to Stan for pointing me in the right direction. Martin G3ZQU
