I just gave the 8/17 build a try on my 2800M also. I was not able to upload back to the radio. The terminal output was either "Failed to read echo" or "Radio did not ack ID" Attached is a sample of terminal output and an .img file. Hi Dan- I installed the 8/17 daily build of CHIRP and gave it a whirl. On the FT-2800m, I was able to download a file from the radio and the data looks fine. I was able to export to .csv and .chirp without error, but could not upload the .img file back to the radio. No error message, it just did not work. The upload to the radio did work with the 8/11 build. On the TH-K2, I was able to download a file from the radio and the data looks fine. I was able to export to .csv and .chirp and I could modify the file "live" and correctly download the file with changes back from the radio. So this one seems to be working pretty well as far as I can tell. On the IC-W32A, I was not able to download a file from the radio. It gave an error "class IC9xICFRadio has no attribute '_model'". Dan- I'm planning to spend some time this evening testing with the FT-2800m, THK2, and W32A and will let you know what I learn. Also, I recieved a programming cable for my Kenwood TM-271A, so I am planning on sending them to you soon so you can figure out the protocol. This is the radio that's going in my CJ-7. I downloaded from the radio and changed a couple frequencies from wide to narrow. I then uploaded the file. The upload did not change the setting to narrow. I downloaded the radio again and the file showed the original file without the changes. I am using XP latest version and a usb cable (generic). It had no effect on the power settings. Steve KB1CHU PS 12:03am EST here. I am crashing good nite!!!
