[chirp_users] Programming Wouxun KG-UV2D
Hello, is this Possible, for programming the Wouxun KG-UV2D Radio with chrip? I have a Windows 10 System and have buy a USB Cable but i have no idea why is the UV2D not on the list.. a Friend have say me .. in a Old version he have found this Radio Can anybody help me?
Wouxun KG-UV2D and KG-UV3D use the KG-UVD1P model in Chirp.

His device manager under Windows shows it to be connected to COM 3.

If the cable is a USB, why are you using COM3?
Because the programming cable is manufactured with a USB-to-Serial chip that, when used with a compatible device driver, creates a virtual COM port. This is necessary because virtually all radios programmed by CHIRP use serial communications and it is rare to see a modern computer with a legacy serial port.

But first just make sure that you press the cable end with the two pins very firmly into the microphone socket on the Wouxun. Just to make sure!
I'm guessing you have a counterfeit Prolific type chip in your cable.
The page above will show you what to do. If this is the problem, you will have to do this each time you use programming software with Windows because of the counterfeit chip in the cable.

I don't speak German either!
Try both drivers. You show one that has a mark on your cable in Device Manager, try this first, then update the Driver.
Usually the problem is that when the Driver is updated, the fake counterfeit chips stop working but they work on the old driver.
See if you can borrow someone else's cable who lives near you. That's often the answer to all problems.
I did exactly that and found my problems were caused by my own errors! How embarrassing because at one time I was actually good at this stuff.

Try this driver, it is the old one. Does it work?
If not, reboot and update driver so we can see what driver you are using.
If you could show us the name and version date of the ORIGINAL driver, it would help.
We are missing that info.
Hopefully you will have tried the old Prolific driver and now CHIRP will work.

It says that because it's not a Prolific driver.
It was my error, he was telling us clearly it was CH40 driver and I was not familiar with that driver.

The CH340 driver works. KG-UV2D isn't an option for Wouxon model. The software isn't recognizing the radio.

Yes.. i can not found the Radio on the Software.. on the Website list it is possible
but on the Software i can not use this Radio .. only UVD1P .. UV2D and UV3D are not on the list to connect.. but when i do this .. the display will go Online and a little Bit Green LED will blinking for a second .. and than i get the message

Or is it possible that KG-UV2D does not want to communicate with the cable?

Correct. Prolific Driver will not work with CH340 cable.
You need to select the correct model of radio.

Try this driver, it is the old one. Does it work?
If not, reboot and update driver so we can see what driver you are using.
If you could show us the name and version date of the ORIGINAL driver, it would help.
We are missing that info.
Hopefully you will have tried the old Prolific driver and now CHIRP will work.

It will tell you everything you need to do to get your cable working.
But first just make sure that you press the cable end with the two pins very firmly into the microphone socket on the Wouxun. Just to make sure!
I'm guessing you have a counterfeit Prolific type chip in your cable.
The page above will show you what to do. If this is the problem, you will have to do this each time you use programming software with Windows because of the counterfeit chip in the cable.
