http:///rtsystemsinc.com They are looking into what products they might be able to offer the DMR community but it is in the investigative stage. You're best bet for DMR support is a state support organization if your state has one. Some states are doing a better job than others. Other than that another good source is your local DMR community.

If Chirp does not support DMR such as Retevis RT82, do you know who might.? I tried RT Systems with no success. I cannot even find a link to contact them.

To the best of my knowledge, CHIRP does not support any DMR radios.

I sure wish I knew more about what needs to be done, with the MD-380's being sold in dumpsters (sure seems like it) and the RT82 being all over the place too, both of them use the same programming. sure would be nice not to have to run the programming software in windows to then go to linux to us md380 tools to load and work with the radios. If Chirp could create the files it would be great.
I guess the question is who do we send a radio to that can take a whack at it?

You can easily download codeplugs for DMR radios. There is no need for Chirp and you generally do not need to pay for the software. The code plugs include software to load or read the radio. If you have used any of these, you would note that they are extremely complex in their configurations. I am not sure the RT82 is well supported but the MD-380/390 have lots of support.

Chuck,
If you'd like to pick up development, I would start here: http://chirp.danplanet.com/issues/3755 http://intrepid.danplanet.com/pipermail/chirp_devel/2016-September/004240.ht...
The major item required to support DMR radios is adding a talkgroup editor to the GUI. Once Chirp has a generic way to edit all the data required to program a DMR radio, adding individual radios becomes much simpler.

Chuck, FYI: No need to go to Linux to update a 380 with tools. Take a look at http://www.miklor.com/DMR/DMR-380-Toolz.php

I do NOT run windows. Sorry, that is not a OS that I want on my machines. Especially 10 which appears to "leak" data to MS. Google "windows 10 calling home" or some variant thereof.
I have the DMR tools which run natively on Linux that is what I use to upload the code plugs, but I would like to be able to modify them without having to resort to something windows based. At this time I run the MD-380 software under wine, but would rather have Chirp handle it.
Tom, I will take a look at it and see what I can do. Perhaps I can get some local help here in the OKC area, and we can get some- thing done. I am not a coder but since moving to OKC, I have found some people that might be able to help me.
