Chuck,
FYI: No need to go to Linux to update a 380 with tools. Take a look at
http://www.miklor.com/DMR/DMR-380-Toolz.php
Strictly Windows based.

I sure wish I knew more about what needs to be done, with the
MD-380's being sold in dumpsters (sure seems like it) and the RT82
being all over the place too, both of them use the same programming.
sure would be nice not to have to run the programming software in
windows to then go to linux to us md380 tools to load and work with
the radios. If Chirp could create the files it would be great.
I guess the question is who do we send a radio to that can take
a whack at it?

rtsystemsinc.com They are looking into what products they might be able to offer the DMR community but it is in the investigative stage. You're best bet for DMR support is a state support organization if your state has one. Some states are doing a better job than others. Other than that another good source is your local DMR community.

If Chirp does not support DMR such as Retevis RT82, do you know who might.? I tried RT Systems with no success. I cannot even find a link to contact them.

To the best of my knowledge, CHIRP does not support any DMR radios.
