[chirp_users] Yaesu 85D error
I put the radio in clone mode and the download almost completes and I get this error: Unable to read block 34 expected 142 got 4 any ideas, I tried 3 times and get the same error. Ed

I assume you meant the 857, right?
Which version of CHIRP are you using?
I am using CHIRP daily-02182012

Hmm, okay. Well, if you could do the following it would help:
1. Try the latest daily, just to be sure. I don't think it will matter, but it's best to rule out. 2. Please grab the debug.log file that gets generated after you try (and fail) to do the download and after you close chirp.
I'm presuming you have the FT-857D (US Version) running on Windows, what, XP?
Thanks!
Ok I will try to do that Dan. No I am using The Zorin takeoff of Ubuntu 11.04 and I am using a Yaesu 857D American, I also have chirp installed on an XP machine, but it doesn't see the 857D on the Yaesu list. I am not suire how to grab the debug file, but will take a look. Ed

Ah, well, please try the latest version of CHIRP on your windows box too, that will be a great data point. The latest build has fixed that bug of the radio not showing up.
The debug log is in your home directory, in a hidden directory called ".chirp".
Thanks!

Here is the debug.log
Thanks, but I don't think you captured it at the right time. Every time you start CHIRP, it clears the debug log. The procedure needs to be:
1. Start chirp 2. Try to download the radio, watch it fail 3. Close chirp 4. Grab and send the debug log
