I'm not sure that was the right link, what came up doesn't appear to interface to a UV-5R.
But if you're commenting on the general state of accessories for radios and the UV-5R, I've seen this general thing a lot. Some accessories just don't make sense because they cost as much or more than the radio.
Here's one I was eyeing the other day: (a Bluetooth headset adapter for Kenwood radios that would work with the 5R) - https://www.newfrog.com/product/wireless-bluetooth-handsfree-k-type-earphone...
Hard to justify for a UV-5R since it costs nearly twice what the radio did.

It's not that the accessories are so much, just that the radio is so inexpensive. Since most of the radios used to cost way more than the UV5, a $50 headset was relatively cheap. The Bluetooth adapter I use is almost $200 by the time I buy the radio cable, and that doesn't include the actual headset. https://www.amazon.com/Sena-SR10-10-Bluetooth-Adapter-Two-Way/dp/B008R0LIHO/... This is not an inexpensive hobby, but adapting the radios to motorcycle use is even more expensive. In a message dated 3/20/2018 11:34:29 AM Pacific Standard Time, dwage@dwage.com writes:

If you're not adverse to a 3 week shipping time and taking a risk on Chinese manufacturing, I have found that there are some super cheap accessories on banggood.com https://www.banggood.com/search/baofeng.html for Baofengs. Antennas, adapters, headsets, batteries, etc. I've ordered from them dozens of times (for all kinds of electronics, but at least a dozen Baofeng accessories) and everything has always arrived and works. Some stuff even ships for the States and arrives in a few days (but you might pay a little more). Their $5 magmount dual-band antenna https://www.banggood.com/UT106-SMA-Female-Dual-Band-Auto-10W-Antenne-for-BAOFENG-UV5RUV5RAUV5RE-HIYG-p-1114869.html is great for a quick mobile deployment (you think the magnet isn't going to be strong enough but so far it's held up at 70mph for me).
