It would help if you would mention which operating system is running on your Dell and describe the exact error message and/or attach the debug.log file that CHIRP created.
Instructions for finding the debug.log file can be found here: https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/How_to_report_issues
In any case the #1 cause of trouble for Windows user is not having a driver installed that is compatible with the USB-to-Serial chip in the programming cable. This is particularly common if the chip identifies itself as a Prolific chip or a WCH chip.
The #2 cause of trouble is not getting the 2-pin plug fully inserted into the radio. Due to these cheaply made items (radio and cable) it is not uncommon for some users to need to press on the plug during the cloning operation to make sure there is a connection inside the radio.
Information about drivers can be found here: https://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_Drivers.php
Suggestions for eliminating connection problems can be found here: https://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_ErrorMess.php#error1

The UV5G is not listed as being a supported model.

Actually it is. It is listed under Radioddity. I also just added UV-5G under Baofeng with a note to use the Radioddity UV-5G vendor/model selections.

Jin - Thanks for the update.

You tried the Baofeng website or the company you bought it from?
Useful hint: Find the software BEFORE choosing the radio.

According to an Amazon review that I just read, the AR-152 can be programmed using CHIRP by selecting Baofeng UV-5X as the vendor/model selections. Let me know if this is truly the and I will add it to the CHIRP Supported Radio Models list.

Iwill check this right now...and let you know. ....yes it programs the radio but the 5R-XP allows the tri power feature., It STILL doesn not program the power on +6 message. It does allow for the other message in alpha numeric.

I modify the programming cable with a Dremel tool and remove a bit of the plastic that prevents the plugs from fully seating into the HTs.
