[chirp_users] ic91ad to ic92ad
Trying to load a ic92ad with a ic91ad file. read both radios and converted to csv format. then reread ic92ad and imported the ic91ad file. Nothing was changed. Any idea what i am doing wrong? Is there a problem transferring between these two radioes?

Nope, that should work fine. Can you find and post your debug.log file after trying an import? Also, your .csv file too please.
Thanks!
Please excuse the delay but here is what you requested. Had to try it again as we had been programming some other radio's.
When I open the csv file in chirp I only get the last channel in the csv file loaded to chirp.

Hmm. One of us is confused. The CSV file you provided was definitely not created with CHIRP, and thus definitely won't be readable by it either. Did you mean to send something else?
Also, your debug.log is basically empty. I need you to try your failing import, quit chirp and immediately grab the debug.log file to send. Every time you start chirp, it clears out that log.
Thanks!
Again sorry about the delay replying. Have been deployed for disaster relief and just got back home. I did not realize that the csv file had to be created within chirp. I thought I could import any csv file. That may clear up the problem I was having.
Now I have another problem. I can no longer download from a Icom 91ad. Gives error: Unable to get radio model. Have tried daily builds 05172011, 05202011 & 05252011 and get the same error each time. Can read a 2820 without any problems. I can read the 91ad's with Icom's software without any problem.
Really need to be able to transfer the same file between different radios for our disaster relief comm's team.
Thanks for all your help

Can you read the 92 with CHIRP? You are using an OPC-1529 or equivalent for the 91, right? The 91 and 92 use the exact same driver, so if you're able to read the 92, then there's a cabling issue with the 91.
No longer have access to the 92ad. Using the same cable I am able to read the 91ad with the Icom rs91 software.

And it goes in the data jack on the _side_ of the radio, right? Are you on a DV channel with any weird settings? I can't get it to fail with my 91AD on the latest daily (just did a bunch of testing) with any settings on the radio. I tried FM mode, DV mode, etc and it always seems to work. The only thing I can think of is that maybe you're using an OPC-478 type clone cable in the speaker jack instead of the data jack.
Yes using data cable in the jack on the side. Will unistall and do a fresh install of the latest daily build and try again. Will also load it on a different computer. Will also load only one or two channels with the icom software and see if chirp can read that. will let you know how it works. Thanks for all your help.

That won't help. CHIRP is not like most Windows software :)
Will also load it on a different computer.
That would be a good thing to test.

If it's not detecting the model, then it hasn't even gotten to the contents of the radio and thus changing them won't make a difference.
Thanks!
Just to say hello, and looking forward to the Puxing support from Chirp.
I have 2 PX777 VHF radios that I use for paragliding, one good one, one won't transmit anything other than its ring tone after a small knock on the shoe rack, hoping Chirp may help bring it back to life!
Regards, Ed - UK
Hi Ed,
Just to say hello, and looking forward to the Puxing support from Chirp.
Since you just joined, you probably haven't seen a daily notice yet. The 777 is supported in the daily builds, which have additional stuff in them on top of what is publicly available on the website.
Grab the latest here and let us know if it works for you:

Thanks Dan, no I hadn't seen the daily notice. I'll have a play with that tomorrow, no radio with me today.
Many thanks, Ed

Dan,
I loaded chirp on another pc and it worked. Now I just have to find out what changed on my laptop to cause it to quit working.
Thanks for all your help and keep up the good work.
