Re: [chirp_users] Baofeng uvr5a - chirp offset settings won't save
That is correct. The offset is not saved and the plus and minus signs both light up to show that the transmit and receive frequency are different. The transmit and receive frequency should be saved separately and will be correct I am sure WB2UFO -- Larry Sent from my Nexus 7

We where never able to get the newer UV5R's to work with Chirp. The Offset does not save and it shows both plus and minus on at the same time.

As long as the transmit and receive frequency are correct ignore the 000 offset. The boafeng will also ignore the 000. That is just how the radio works. Even if you program from the key pad the radio ignores the offset. It only works from the transmit and receive frequency WB2UFO -- Larry Sent from my Nexus 7

Hello,
In uploading the chirp settings to my baofeng uv5ra, it appears that all settings are saving to to the radio correctly - except for the offset settings which just read 0.000. The frequencies are for 70 cm fm receivers in my area, so all the values in the chirp file are 5 MHz.
Apologies if this question is better directed to a baofeng support forum, but I suspected some folks on this mailing list were likely to have encountered this question before.
Thanks in advance for any feedback,
Allan

When you program from the radio's own front panel I believe you get the same +- display when it's in channel mode (as of BFB251 on my radio I bought at Dayton last year). I think that's just the way they roll. :)
The offset is only used in VFO (frequency mode).
