[chirp_users] Programming
Gentlemen, I need some help please. I am trying to program a radio with a receive of 103.5 and a transmit of 123.7 and can not figure out how.
/r W3JFR / WRTG789 Dean
Dean,
If I understand your request, you are trying to program a channel with different TX & RX PL/CTCSS tones, correct?
What model radio are you trying to program?

Gentleman, Thank you for the replies. I have an Anytone778UV. I know I have the driver and so forth as I have programmed the radio twice already. I know it seems a little weird but one of the repeaters in town was having some interference from an AM radio station so they had to split the codes to get it to work. I will try the cross section in the drop down box. One other question what if I need an encode only on the frequency?

You never have to have a receive tone. No receive tone always works. So to program your first example with a TX tone only and RX is left as carrier squelch only...
Tone Mode: Tone Tone: 123.7

The original Dean, unless I'm reading this way wrong, you're wanting to receive an FM Broadcast signal - that would be WFUS out of Tampa Bay - and wanting to retransmit it on an aircraft band. I seriously doubt that even the Chinese radios are going to let you do that. They've been limited to the general hams bands (the old ones also worked on the GMRS bands) but as I'm reading your request, you're way out of those. Inquiring minds ant to know: Whatcha trying to do??

Al,
You completely misread what dean wants to do:
His local repeater had interference from an AM broadcast station, so to eliminate the interference, they went to split tones on the repeater.
A second question was raised about only encoding his transmissions, not using a 'tone squelch' on another (different) repeater.
I have no idea how you turned interference from an AM station into receiving an FM broadcast and the re-transmit that FM signal on the AM aircraft band.

Gentlemen, This was copied right off the webpage and may provide additional information.
Use the Downtown Receiver as noted below. 103.5 Hz CTCSS transmit and 127.3 Hz CTCSS receive (or disable CTCSS when receiving). VHF: Input 146.1 MHz Output 146.7 MHz
The other questions I asked was because I received this text about a friends repeater: 147.135 - Tone encode only of 127.3

If the radio would allow it, you would do split frequencies, not tones, like I did with my Baofeng so I could receive the ISS on the 440 band and transmit on the 2M band. Al,
You completely misread what dean wants to do:
His local repeater had interference from an AM broadcast station, so to eliminate the interference, they went to split tones on the repeater.
A second question was raised about only encoding his transmissions, not using a 'tone squelch' on another (different) repeater.
I have no idea how you turned interference from an AM station into receiving an FM broadcast and the re-transmit that FM signal on the AM aircraft band.

Dean, What ham band are you trying to program this for? Are you sure you have the frequencies correct? Dean KC9REN

If I understand your request, you are trying to program a channel with different TX & RX PL/CTCSS tones, correct?
What model radio are you trying to program?

Apologies, I have no idea what happened to my previous note - this is how it came back to me.
Very odd, apparently though some people got it - at least Al seems to have gotten the note in the clear, based on his response.

Dean, You don't say what radio you have. Do you know if you have the correct cable and driver for the cable? I would be happy to try to help you but I need some more information first. You don't say what part of the programming you need help with. 73, Dean KC9REN
