Many ideas here that could solve your problem. Also, check to see if you enabled a tone squelch option that would not pass the audio unless the proper tone/code is set. For just plain reception, you would not need this..

Donie, Had same happen here on my UV5R & finally found out that they either changed frequencies or went digital (P25, NAM, Etc. Tones). I have used CHIRP to program Baofeng UV5R with my local First Responder frequencies. However, I still cannot pick them up. Does anyone have any advice on what I am doing wrong or suggestions for me to try?
