[chirp_users] problems uploading or downloading to computer
I have a Yaesu 857 and I have the Prolific USB to Serial comm port cable. I have installed the old driver. It did work with old versions of Chirp. Now it's now working. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,
Nothing would have changed in CHIRP that would have affected this. Assuming that you are running Windows, I would expect that Windows updated the driver. This happened to me about a week ago. All I had to do (and it should be the same for you) is to use the Device Manager application and re-select the older version (v3.2.0.0).
I keep several Prolific drivers installed and switch between them at will for testing.

Thank Jim...I have the v3.2.0.0 version install. Don't know what's going on.

Mike,
But is it selected? Windows will install the latest device driver and select it. Then you have to switch it back to the version you want.
Also while you are in Device Manager, make sure that the COM port assigned to the programming cable didn't change. CHIRP remembers and selects the last port used even if it is no longer available. When this happens, you have to switch CHIRP to the new port.
If the v3.2.0.0 device driver is still selected and CHIRP is set to the correct port and it still doesn't work, then what is the exact error message (or attach a debug.log file)?
Jim KC9HI
Yes it's selected
