[chirp_users] Has the QYT KT-8900 patch been add to version 20160415
I am still having problems downloading from my QYT KT-8900 using Linux version 20160415.
I started chirpw from a terminal screen and this is what displayed after trying to download.

This is the cable I received with the radio so I believe it is the factory programming cable and it works with the factory software on Windows XP but is very clumsy to use.
thanks for any replies

This still a known issue. What I have to do here to program my WACCOM MINI-8900 is use my Windows 7 virtual machine. I would suggest that you try CHIRP on your Windows XP computer until the issue is resolved.

Hi all, Been a lurker for some time, I have 2 radios, Baofeng Bf-F8. Chirp and BF work awesome. I recently purchased an IC-737 . I am using a longwire from tree to tree. My question is will Chirp work with the Icom? Can someone point me to the cable diagram and basic Info? ThanksKemp

Have you looked at the list of supported radios on the CHIRP homepage?

Kemp,
I took a quick look at the IC-737A manual and icomciv.py. It should be possible to make a driver based on the IC-746 but I have no way to test it.
Are you interested in offering your time and effort in testing the driver? Beware, it could get frustrating.

Hey Jardy, and All, The japanese usb to 8th cable and driver on ebay will not work with win 8.1 from what they tell me. think it is a driver thing so I am researching that. why wouldn't the prolific drivers work on it. Any Ideas on the usb cable and where and what? Chirp works great with My bao bf-f8 handheld. Thanks guys. now on to icom. They said For this radio, you will need to have the CT-17 level convert and connect it to the Remote port on the radio. If you use a program such as Ham Radio Deluxe, you will be able to do some basic rig control with that. However, the CT-17 is of a very dated design. You will need to use a serial-to-USB adapter in order to connect the CT-17 to your computer. We suggest using a Key Span adapter, part number USA19HS and this adapter will allow you to interface with most operating systems. I hope that this will be helpful. Is anyone with an icom have any suggestions (besides dumping it and getting a newer rig.)<VBG>From: Joseph.P.Scanlan@n7xsd.us Date: Tue, 19 Apr 2016 07:47:47 -0700 To: chirp_users@intrepid.danplanet.com Subject: Re: [chirp_users] Icom Ic-737-737A
