I saw where someone else had this error and it was noted that the firmware was not the same for the two radios so I checked it and the firmware displayed in the Firmware Message 1 for both downloads is identical: N5R340A
So I’m not sure where to go from here. I guess I can recreate all the changes in the download from the second radio (?) but kind of wanted to know what I am doing wrong so the upload of the image from the first radio is not being supported by the second?

All 14 characters of the firmware version must exactly match.
Download from all 3 radios and email them to me. I will take a look to see what is going on.

Why did you download the image of the second radio????? I have two Boafeng radios. I programmed the first one they way I wanted both to be. Saved the file. Then I just uploaded that file to the second radio and it works perfectly.

Tom,
You can only do what you are doing if the firmware versions and a couple of other things exactly match. Debra's radio #1 has an invalid memory and wouldn't upload into either of the other 2 radios. This was a good thing or she would have had 3 goofed up radios.
Everyone should download from each new radio that the get and save it to a file as a back to never be edited.

Yes. The squelch settings were changed in radio #1.
All three radios have the same N5R340A firmware. You should be able to able to upload an image from any one of them to any one of the others.
The reason you can't (and it is a good thing you can't) is because someone has uploaded and image from a radio with BFB firmware into radio #1. It probably doesn't receive signal without pressing the [MONI] button. You definitely do not want to upload BAO1.img into radio #2 or radio #3.
You need to follow the procedure in the link below and upload either BAO2.img or BAO3.img (they are both identical) into radio #1.

Once radio #1 if fixed, be sure to upgrade back to the latest CHIRP daily build.
