I am having the same problem as Ray, but also with my TH 9800. The TYT software can't see the radio either. So I don't think it is the plug on the Baofeng cable in my case.

Hi Dave, I don't believe there will be a need to be concerned with the port number if the prolific 2303 driver is downloaded and installed. when I did that it immediately recognized the circuitry in the patch cord.
