I like the fact that the other settings aren't changed, just the frequency list and things that are related to it. I've gone to club meetings and programmed new radios (and old ones that the owner never had time to set up) for other members. Many of the settings are personal, and changing them means that the owner has to go in and reset all the settings that are specific to the user such as mic sensitivity, display settings, auto time off, and many others. It all depends on the radio.

Lots of things are not included I guess the new radios the intent is to get channel mapping working first to make programming a bit easier. But you should be able to set your deviation to half or narrow by copying the channels into VFO changing it there then writing it back to the same memory spot. That doesn't take much time unless you have maybe a hundred or so channels to change to narrow. Then I would look for software that does have that set menu item. Not sure if there is a VX-7 Commander I know it supports my VX-5.

I have used CHIRP to download my VX-7R's configuration (previously created with VX-7 Commander) and noted that some of the radio-wide features were not displayed .. only the contents of the specific memory channels. Is there any plan to address additional configuration items as is done for the UV-5R? I also did not see a FMN or half deviation setting.
