I'm still exploring alot of this, especially the UV5RA. I guess it is just part of the learning curve. I didn't initially put the frequencies in the radio. So as I said I'm still learning.

On a long shot, have you tried a factory reset, a complete reset not just some parameters. I forget is the UV5 has two different levels of reset. Then upload your image to the radio and see what happens. I know from experience that radios which get all their operating instructions from the non volatile firmware which is stored along with modifiable ram can get corrupted and cause some real whacky symptoms. If you have a current image of your channels give it a try. When the radio reboots it will upload a fresh operating system from its firmware. Then you can upload your memory image. Might be the simple fix and I certainly would be the first to try it.

Can't see an "R" so still not sure. Maybe have to come back to this later.

I've just had a test with my UV-5RA... This could happen if your channels are duplex frequencies and you have Reverse turned on - then it will be displaying the TX frequency not the RX frequency. If there's an "R" in the display, press "*" and it should return to normal.
