I use CHIRP on COM port 5.
Sorry you're unhappy.
What operating system are you using? Are you using a USB serial port emulator or a real serial port?

You can change the Com port in windows, or chirp. I'm not sure why you're having trouble, is come not available? I would go into device manager, find the adaptor for the radio, and change the port to whatever one you want to use.

If you are using windows, check Device Manager to see what Comm port your cable is set at. You give absolutely no useful information about your problem, and you expect to get help.
