[chirp_users] Default factory images server…
Hello,
Many years back, I remember there being a massive FTP server that had the motherload of default chirp images for many radios, mainly Baofeng/BTech, but other brands as well. The images were cleanly and carefully catalogued not only by brand and model, but by firmware versions.
While I don’t need any of them at the moment, I was hoping to relocate this sever and just download (clone) the entire site. While I always do first download from new radios and save their default image, over time my files have become less organized, plus I had a recent drive failure. I’m looking to just make an entirely new index of default factory images and store them in several locations (including clouds). I just started putting a new archive together with what I still have, but if this site still exists it would make for a much easier starting point. Anyone remember the location of this server (if it stop exists)? I can’t find any old bookmarks for it on my systems.
Thanks!

I remember seeing it recently, it was a link in a chat on how to fix my bf-f8hp & uv82hp that i thought were bricked but I didn't end up using it. I'll see if I can find it again. I think I bookmarked it in my favorites but I'll check. I think the chat where I found the link was talking about bricked baofeng radios.
Thanks, Jeff

I don't know if this is the same one but there's a link in this website: https://www.otleyradio.org/index.php/2016/05/05/fixing-a-bricked-baofeng/ I think the one I saw was a chat in the reddit app but this one looks similar. Miklor.com might have one also.
Thanks, Jeff

I just checked again and that was the image file list that I saw a few weeks ago. https://kc9hi.dyndns.org/uv5r/programming/CHIRPrecovery/

I could sure use the Bofang uv9 r+ file. Chirp doesn’t seem to work well

Guess you could use the manufacturer's original software.
