[chirp_users] UV-6R alpha display
Does the UV-6R display the "name" ? I uploaded a stock configuration that included name info but the radio isn't showing it, unlike the UV-5R that does. None of the reviews I found mentioned it.

Just like on the UV-5R, you have to set the Memory Display Format (MDF-A and MDF-B) to NAME.
Set either or both of these settings to "Name"...
Settings -> Basic Settings -> Display Mode (A): Settings -> Basic Settings -> Display Mode (B):

After a computer crash...rebuild....reinstall the programmer driver....update chirp....
Yes that works. Shoulda been obvious of course, its just been a while since I programmed the other radios

did you turn it on in the settings to display Name instead of frequency just like the UV-5R
