[chirp_users] Chirp; Baofeng BF-F8HP not programming correctly
I have a new Baofeng BF-F8HP which isn't programming correctly. In the new radio the channel NAMES aren't being programmed, everything else seems to work... This is an improvement over the last version, which said INCORRECT VERSION.. when I tried to read the information from the radio.... Downloaded the new version today ...
Help... 73's

Are the settings set to show NAME instead of FREQUENCY?

Adding channel names does not cause them to appear. You must also edit the Memory Display Format of the corresponding display line to enable the display of channel names.
Using the CHIRP UI, the settings would be:
For the top display line: Settings -> Basic Settings -> Display Mode (A):
For the bottom display line: Settings -> Basic Settings -> Display Mode (B):
The choices are Channel, Name and Frequency
Using the redio's menu system, the settings would be:
For the top display line: Menu 21 (MDF-A)
For the top display line: Menu 22 (MDF-B)
The choices are CH, NAME and FREQ
After making any changes from the radio's menu system, remember to download the changes to CHIRP. Otherwise you next upload may return the settings to the way they were previously.
