Received this radio as a gift. Downloaded Chirp and connected the radio via usb c adapter to my MacBook and receive a RADIO DID NOT RESPOND error. Any idea how to fix this? Quite frustrating! Thank you for any suggestions. Lisa

Yes, cable works fine, i see on the radio that connection is made. And then the message appears after 5 seconds.

If you look in System Information > Hardware > USB you should be able to see what kind of chip is in the cable, and find the Mac device driver for that, if you need one.

The OS definitely needs a driver to talk to the cable, that's not optional. However, most of the time macOS has the proper drivers already. But, your post really doesn't have enough information for us to even know whether or not it sees the cable, much less if it sees the radio. It would be much better if you could use these instructions first:

Doing that will tell us a lot, including whether or not a driver for your cable is required. If you do, then the mac users on this list will be able to help you find and install one.

I solved the problem by swapping out the usb c adapter. It's working fine now.
