[chirp_users] uv5r a/b programming.
trying to program a/b such that each will be a single different frequency. regadless if i have switch in either position, when i download to radio it programs a//b with same info. what am i missing?

Jim,
The UV5R uses 1 memory to store VHF and UHF for both A and B . The same information you program will show up exactly the same on both top and bottom. only difference is you can change on what you want to have monitored on top/bottom by scrolling through your memory and finding 2 different frequencies of your choice..

Hi Jim,
You are trying to do something that the radio is not capable of. The UV-5R only has one 'bank' of 128 memories. The A and B displays have independent access the same 128 memories.
