That is the same issue I am having, but the problem I am having is that download to fix the issue is no longer available. Any suggestions aside from buying a new computer/ newer OS?
Thanks

Josh, You could use Ubuntu for free with Chirp. I recommend Ubuntu version 18, and not 20, as the difference in Python may be challenging. You can use VmWare to have Linux without rebooting, or you could put it on a thumb drive and boot up to it. HTH. Glenn

It looks like Microsoft still has the VC 2008 redistributable package available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29
If sure if you searched a little more (than me) you can find the SP1 (service pack 1) package

Found it! (I think)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26368
Looks like they did a security update which is why the old link stopped working.

Thanks Tony. I think that's the RTM package but it will probably do the trick as well as the SP1 package (see my other reply).

Josh,
The file is probably just not available at the link given. I had to search for the same file recently (it has to be installed in Windows 10 before the Gravity NNTP newsreader will run).

Thank you all for the suggestions, I will try to work on it this weekend. I really appreciate it, I am hopeful this works, I have been trying to get back into things after several years away from the radio.
