Help uninstalling legacy version of chirp in ubuntu
I installed (CHIRP daily-20220604) a while ago and cannot find it. I'm running Ubuntu 24.04 and can't find the program to delete it. I want to install the new build but the documentation say's uninstall older versions. any help would be appreciated. I have tried searching anywhere I could think of to no avail. I tried grep and searched my complete drive with file explorer.
Thanks, Fred
Does Chirp start with the command chirpw ?

Thanks for replying tony. no it won't but when I start it from my shortcut on the sidebar it starts. Now I'm trying to figure out which usb port it's on to see if it actually works.

Try $ whereis chirp
You should get a reply like:
chirp: /home/julian/.local/bin/chirp
I wish I knew how to edit a post :)
Ok it does work up and download. I still can't figure out where the executable is. Grrrrr This is really frustrating now I know that it's here but I just can't find it.
BTW My callsign is KC2JDZ
Chirp is installed under the users home directory. Look in the `/.local/lib/` directory. If you have a python subdirectory there you will find chirp under that.
Note that if you still have the legacy chirp installed it may be under the python2.7 path.
Uninstall however should be done using pip or pipw to remove things cleanly.
