[chirp_users] - character no supporting in Name field anymore?
Just imported my Kenwood D72A radio to make some mods after downloading the CHIRP daily-20151225 build, chirp shows all my previously added channels with the - character in them, but if I touch any of them it coughs errors says the - is not a supported character?
Is that a change based on model? My Radio supports it and it makes the display of multiple repeater channels nice to visually separate.

Not the version you are using now. The version you were using when it was working.

Quick question:
Is it the dash character - or longer emdash character that is autogenerated in word or excel with a double dash?

Just the single dash (minus sign) that I am typing.
It worked on the build I grabbed in September.

The driver for the D72 uses the "chirp_common.CHARSET_ALPHANUMERIC" which is:
"ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz 1234567890"
So it would not support the "-" character. It probably never has.

Hrmmm... It's possible I made an edit with the Kenwood program, but with more Baofengs in the house I will probably use Chirp mostly. Is that a setting per radio type? (Can I request the "-" Symbol? :-D

I would think it could be added. Open an issue. It probably wouldn't hurt to include one of your CHIRP images files that includes the "-" character.
