[chirp_users] Nothing under the settings tab
My new UV-5R, when downloaded from the radio, will not show anything under the settings tab. I am getting this error message: The upload was stopped because the firmware version of the image (N5R2407BFB297 ) does not match that of the radio ( Ver BFB229 ). Any ideas?? Thanks, Steve

Hi,
I've had that problem when I accidentally try to upload an image from an older uv5r onto a newer one.
Did you start with an image directly downloaded from the radio you are trying to upload to?

Steve,
Your radio has a setting in it that is our-of-range for one of the menus. This usually happens when there is one or more corrupted bytes in the radio's memory. Examining the debug.log file may give a clue which setting is out-of-range.
Once you have saved the original image to a file as a backup, a possible solution is to reset the radio and download from it again. Hopefully the settings menus will then show and you can import the channels from your backup image file into your radio.
You must not directly upload an image save from one radio into a radio with a different firmware version. They are different so CHIRP is correctly stopping the upload.
