[chirp_users] Baofeng BF-F8HP uploading
Hi,
Try using the latest daily build (actually any daily build from the last month should work fine. You’ll even find a specific BF-F8HP setting in the dropdown menu.

I can download just fine (using ur5 setting), but I can not upload as it does not like the Baofeng model number. I am using Chrip 4.1 Suggestions?

The issues you are having is because CHIRP 0.4.1 is almost a year old. At that time of 0.4.1’s creation, the F8HP didn’t exist. ONLY use CHIRPs Latest Daily Build. Do not try to upload the UV5R image to the F8HP. The images are Not the same.
Install CHIRP’s Latest Daily Build Perform a Read from Radio using the F8HP to create an initial template for the radio. Copy and Paste the channel settings from the UV5R template to the F8HP template.
Review Section 1 and Section 3 of http://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_CHIRP.php

Robert is correct. The CHIRP stable build was released in April of 2014. Support for the BF-F8HP wasn't available until after that. That's why the "Supported Radio Models" list on the CHIRP home page says "BF-F8HP (in daily builds)". It is important to use a CHIRP daily build from September 2014 or after for Baofeng radios. The CHIRP v0.4.x stable build should not be used for Baofeng radios.
