Re: [chirp_users] Radio Shack HTX-242
I don't think any Radio Shack gear was ever computer programming capably.

The Radio Shack HTX420 is computer programmable, but no one ever developed the software.
There was a PDF manual that provided the instructions on how to program the rig with your PC.I am attaching a text copy of the instructions.
I also have a PDF schematic for a computer interface.
Let me know if you would like a copy.

Who made that radio for the shack? It might be easier to start there and adapt a driver already written for a different model.

Not sure who made it, but it was made in Korea.
I don’t have the rig anymore, but I have the pdf documentation files.
