For USB cables, try ebay.

Thanks for the reply. The cable i received with the radio. It was bought second hand and came with everything but the usb to serial adapter which i already had for other devices.
If there is a straight usb cable that would be awesome. If you know of one a link would be wonderful.
I assumed chirp would setup the speed and parity for me. If i am mistaken then what settings do i need and where can i find them. I did not happen across them in the radio manual.
Regards

I'm aware of their product. I'm hoping to avoid spending the money on it if I don't have to, but not opposed to buying their cable and software as a last resort. I'd ideally like to try and get this working with Chirp.
I also read that the RT cable does not work with chirp. Anyone else able to weigh in on this?

I've had good luck using cables from Valley Enterprises for my FTM-350 (and several other Yaesu mobiles). Although I have not used it with CHIRP at this point (I used FTB350 from G4HFQ in the past). My FTM-350 is currently in a box as I traded the vehicle it was in and have not yet installed it in the new one, so I can't really test it with CHIRP at the moment to see how well it works.
Here's a link to the cable on Amazon: - http://www.amazon.com/Programming-FTM-350-Chipset-Supports-Windows/dp/B004SU...
It's a bit pricy as compared to the eBay cables, but having a genuine FTDI chipset is worth the extra cost to avoid all the issues with Prolific drivers.

Aubrey,
Thats fantastic. I'm going to do some testing with the friend who sold me the radio. He said he was able to use chirp to program it so we're gonna try with his laptop to see if we can find the issue and try and rule some things out.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
