First you must know the column heading acronyms and conventions of Chirp and how they relate to Ham radio in general and then to your radio. You need to completely understand this: https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/MemoryEditorColumns

Second, using Chirp download your radio's current configuration.

Then save your current configuration to an .img file.

(You can edit the .img file directly in Chirp but it's far easier in even a text file, or even better in Excel)

Then export your configuration to a .csv file.

Then using a text editor, Excel or compatible spread sheet program, edit the columns with data from the DR DStar repeater csv file. Do not try to add columns of data that may be there for other radios. Use only the columns present from your radio.

This is a spreadsheet example from my Baofeng UV-5R.

This is the same file in a text editor.

When finished, save the csv file and import to chirp.

Then upload to radio.

You will inevitably have a few errors the first couple times you try to import. Most importantly none of the values can be empty except I believe 'Tone' of which you purposely leave empty for no tone.

This works for me, and I believe this is the recommended way to use Chirp correctly.

File generated by Dstarinfo.com DR file creator. their files work on TH D74 id 5100 etc.

Missing fields as well as unable to update dstar mgmt screens.
