How do you get CHIRP to work on a MacBook Pro? I keep getting an error message (“radio not communicating”, or something like that). According to the download site, and also with the cable I have, it’s supposed to be compatible.

Have you gotten the right driver?
I you haven’t plug the cable in, and go to “About this Mac”, “System Report”. Locate the chip in the cable and do a search for the chip and download and install it.
That should work.

Mark, I have been using CHIRP since 2016 if my memory serves me right. The cable I use to connect to the radios was bought from Baofengtech when I bought my first BF-F8HP, and I just had to make sure that I was using the right driver. After that, even upgrading OS X did not break anything.
